Scoreless after Q1. Rocklin putting together a textbook drive of short gainers but Folsom got a TFL on the last play

0-0 at the half. Huge stop for Rocklin in the final minute.

Rocklin has had a great game plan and executed it well. Curious what adjustments Folsom makes on offense to take the lid off

Rocklin D doing what they’re capable of. I’d like to see more pressure on Mack who I believe will turn it over but can’t really argue with the 1st half results of making them throw it short and rally to the tackle.

No Elias Brown again, it seems. Hopefully Mason Silva can break one off the 2nd half or they can hit a long pass over the top.

1st possession of the 2nd half will be important for the Thunder.

Okay, it might not matter much, but I was looking at the tie-breakers for league champ in regards to placement in the D1 bracket. Basically (I think), if Folsom wins outright or loses by less than 13 points, they are the only team to go D1 from the three-way tie. Del Oro and Rocklin would still go D2.

If Folsom loses by 13-25 points, Folsom would still be the only team to go D1.

If Rocklin wins by 26+, then both Rocklin and Folsom are in D1 and that will shift the bracket mightily.

Then again, it might all be moot by the time I finish typing this over-long post.

Is the new ownership still staying open super late on game nights like Keith used to?

I've only been in a handful of times since the ownership change, but not for a game yet.

One of the things that got me and my wife to go there again was the fact that they weren't enforcing mask mandates at the height of the pandemic and it was the only place we'd gone to where things seemed "normal" when you hung out there. Lots of people, lots of fun.
Except for the ones that got sick and or died. Other wise no problem.

Here's wishing you great football

Agree, would like to see brown get carries in the second half but think maybe something might not be right with him. Thing about nightrain is he can use that 200+ frame to get a few extra yards, Silva is a bit more shifty in space.

I hope they dial up a few blitzes but I think the occasional nickel look and 3 down are presenting some issues forcing the check down for Folsom. I also noticed they are playing Derek to the field, just a matter of time till he blitzes...

Something to consider is just getting to the fourth qtr with a shot to win the game. If the run game opens up you might see a few aggressive play calls in the passing game. Dbs for Folsom are really good.

True. And with any type of loss to Rocklin, Folsom dodges having to play Central Catholic. You know, the team that Serra battled and struggled against early on. You know, the same Serra that handed Folsom their only loss until tonight. Lots of football still to be played in the 2nd half.

All joking aside, I still vote for a 0-7 point spread win for Folsom. Rocklin’s D is doing their thing. But, Folsom’s D is doing likewise.

Not sure of the trick play there by Folsom. Teams match INTs to start Q3

Wow! Folsom offense struggling now resorts to a trick play with multiple ball exchanges in the backfield throws deep and intercepts. Wow again! Rocklin fumbles but recovers. Defense looking good for both teams, but offense for both teams contributing with sloppy play.

It appears Rocklin has the momentum. Stick to ground play (control possession) short passes and move the chains. Avoid deep passes into Folsom’s very good secondary. Just move the chains.

Dang, as I write this Rocklin goes deep, just not accurate. SMH.

Would be pick turns into an immaculate reception for Folsom, just not for TD, but good for a few yards.

Another generous spot for Folsom. That’s 2 that weren‘t first downs that were gifted to them. Even the 2 announcers recognized it.

Near fumble turnover (recovers) and that wide open dropped pass downfield = more sloppy play by the Bulldogs.

But, generous spot gives Folsom a first down.

Well, that might be ballgame.

RHS doesn’t get the pick 6 then gives up a TD. Mack does about the only thing he can do which is sit in the pocket under zero pressure and hit a wide open receiver under 10-15 yards.

TD Bulldogs. Just thinking that missed pick would have muted this drive. Reminds me of Tartt’s dropped pick in the NFC championship. After that it was all LA Rams. Rocklin needs to make something happen. Else, right now momentum is with Folsom. Momentum was going back n forth earlier. Now down a score, much digging to get it back,

Not over yet! Rocklin gets the 1st down with the measurement. Could be the spark.

If Folsom scores on this drive, it’s over. Rocklin offense does not have the horses to really make something happen vs the Folsom D, especially if down two scores. Plus, clock will always be on the side of the team with the lead.

This is impressive and is exactly what TR and I have been talking about with Folsom lackluster offense. Mack is not what Folsom has had the luxury of having.

Give Folsom secondary credit, but Robert’s arm is not accurate down field … so many off target throws. He’s fine with the short throws, but terrible with long throws. His WR has the secondary beat and he overthrows. Clock is ticking.

Finally, he connects! Rocklin TD catch in the endzone! Onsides kick coming up.

Thing is, he wasn’t this poor last season. Yes, he had bigger more experienced receivers but his throws were more on point. He was pretty good, actually, until later in the season when his play dropped. He was good against St. Mary’s but not good against Folsom the 2nd time around.

This season, I got not answer. Lots of awful throws.
