Read my statement "I have seen a FEW teams". Never referenced Riordan. Try not to be so sensitive to defend your "R". I frankly think when NorCal starts we'll see what all of these teams (Riordan, Salesian, Lincoln, St Joseph's, etc.) have when it really counts.

Dude, I'm not going to argue on the board with you. I don't know you, and I don't care about the R. Seriously. My point was that I have seen several teams playing their starters when the game is obviously over. If you feel that you are "calling me out" or "insulting me" while hiding behind a user name, then you really don't know me. The fact that coaches play starters well after the game is over is not cool. It produces the wrong type of message. Kinda like the team that recently won by 100+. Save your bullshit for someone who cares what you think.

It is not personal and believe me, I am not truly interested in knowing you. But give me a break, I didn’t even factually check you, those were the board revered posters ,…I listed.

I did make jest of your point and found some pretty good humor on how you wanted to word salad out of your post & statement. My personal brief, is you: “say what you mean and mean what you say”. That way in a brief meaningless post doesn’t need to be word salad to clarify or justify.

Riordan will be challenged no doubt in Nor-Cal Open.

WCAL and CCS Open are pretty much the same competition. Teams from last year's CCS Open was WCAL add HMB, Sacred Heart Prep and Branham.
This year as posters in this thread mentioned is a down year, if that's true how does that prepare Riordan for Nor-Cal Open?

Playing at the Gridley, beating SRV, Clovis North, and Salesian, as well as playing in the Torrey Pines Classic as runner-up has prepared them. SI, VC, Bellarmine, Mitty and Serra were all Bay Area ranked teams earlier in the season, but some have dropped off. Also, the 3 transfers that became eligible in January have added depth and scoring to this team and they are fitting in nicely.

Another challenge is the CCS only allows 24 games played in a season (not incl playoffs). Also, the WCAL are home/home series (no playoffs) so that already makes it 14 games. Teams like Riordan have to pick wisely on the tournaments or games they play.
Just looking at the SJS, NCS and Central Sections to date and they have all played as many as 25 games (Clovis North) to the CCS's teams 17 (Riordan, Mitty etc). Would be nice if the CCS allowed more games played in a season and/or at least matching the other sections.

I was at the SI vs Riordan Game. With 3 minutes left in the game and up 35 points, the 6"10" DI center was still in the game. The last couple of guys on the bench came in with under 3 minutes left. I don't really care but that's just a FACT.

I don't think you "word salad" anything. I thought what you said was true. Teams do run up the score....whether they're doing it on purpose or not...unless you're sitting on the bench, we on the internet don't know what the coach is preaching.

At the end of the day, the players on the court (starters or bench) should be playing hard regardless of the competition or score. If the bench guys get in the game in a blow out, I as a player, parent, spectator and/or coach expect those players to play hard and execute the game plan. If the game plan is to play hard defense and they execute and end up with open layups...it's just inherent with playing good hard defense.

Are there exceptions (coaches with horrible character), Yes...there will always be. I read the article about that LA team and the kid scoring 100 points. The coach knew the other team was extremely over matched, but told his players to feed the kid and let him score 100 knowing they were going to win by almost 100 points. That coach is not a good person!!
