I went to the SRV/Cal game. Thought it would be a lot closer. The teams have similar talent levels player by player. I think the difference is that SRV has a floor general (Gerhart) whereas no one on Cal really has that role. At times, Moulton seems to be trying to take charge but then Adams or someone else would start racing coast to coast. The re-match could be a lot different.

But in the meantime, the NCP top twenty rankings may need to be tweaked a bit. :)

One thing about Cal: Kaylie Edge, their sophomore wing, is out, and that makes a big difference. She's a good player ...

True, but SRV was missing Natalie Pasco, also a strong sophomore wing. And Pasco should be back in action soon, while my understanding is that Edge is probably out for the season. It's hard enough to rank teams without having to keep track of all the injuries and illnesses.

St. Ignatius beat St. Francis 61-56: SI led 20-9 after the first quarter.

Mitty beat Valley Christian 70-25: Hiraki had 16 points and Bourland had 15 points.

Sacred Heart Cathedral beat Presentation 68-58

North Salinas beat Salinas 56-50:
Nathalie Morales had 18 points for North Salinas.

Antelope beat Woodcreek 65-53: Antelope won Q3 22-11

Oak Ridge beat Del Oro 59-48

Lincoln beat Oakmont 56-36

At O’Dowd, Woodside Priory was the easy winner over El Cerrito by the score of 71-30

SRV edges Monte Vista 44-43 last night.

After Cal beat MV by 20 and lost to SRV by 16 in the last week, who’d have thought this one would be this close? But you just never know in these rivalry games.

Ok just saw this from the other thread:

“Confirmed after today’s game that Brian Sato will be leading the St Joseph ND girls bb team the rest of the season. He’s been an assistant coach there for 9 years.”

Jordan Allred caught a perfect 3/4-court pass from Becca Welsh in stride and hit and a left-handed layup (she's right-handed) under pressure at the buzzer to help Miramonte beat SHC 57-56.

Dylan Benitez, also right-handed, hit a difficult left-handed 10-foot runner with 7.8 seconds to go to give SHC a 56-55 lead.
