Will there be High School FB this fall?

What makes the current situation so tough for young people is that taking a break from college to work may not be an option because the job market is so grim. The armed services might be a potential way to go but that's not for everyone to be sure.

Unfortunately I think that is the way it’s going to go. We began discussing out of state options for our class of ‘21 son.

A reasonable option. There are folks on NCP, even this thread, with kids out of HS for 5-10 years; we’ve experienced choices and trajectories.
Your son sounds like P5 material. That’s great.
