Arik Armstead (49ers), Marcus Peters (Chiefs) and Shaq Thompson (Panthers) all went in the first round on Thursday. The NorCal region has done very well in the draft the last couple of years.

Tyler Sambrillo, 2010 graduate of St Francis Central Catholic in Watsonville, was picked by the Broncos in the second round.

How about Jordan Richards (Folsom) going to the Pats in the 2nd round. Had a great career at Stanford. Think about the SJS in general. Wow. Eddie Vanderdous from Placer will be an early round pick next year I'm sure.

James Sample (Grant Union) was drafted by Jacksonville in the 4th round today. Had Devontae Booker - who returned to Utah for his senior season - decided to enter, 3 members of the 2009 Grant Pacers squad would have gone in the same draft. Booker has a great chance to be high draft choice next season should he have another stellar season for the Utes.

There's also a chance that DeAndre Carter (Washington High-Fremont, Sacramento State) winds up as a late round pick today as well. He turned a lot of heads at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl practice a few months ago.

Terry Poole from Seaside and Monterey Peninsula College was drafted in the 4th round by the Seahawks.
