Bellarmine beat Menlo-Atherton last night 27-0. I will X out by #10 pick as a result, unless we want to replace it for those who made their picks today. The original message did say that the picks were due this evening, so I think this might be a reasonable compromise.
(Except maybe for those who made their picks after the game was over and still got it wrong 😆.)
When you hear things directly from key members of the program like “The Kids have had a terrible week of practice, they are flat and uninspired”, I am not sure what else you can conclude….Let down game? Funny, but DLS somehow managed not to have any of those for 30 years in NorCal. Even during a time when Regional and State game appearances didn't exist.
Don't be "excuse thread" guy, OC89! You're better than that! You're sounding like Sammy the Servite homer circa 2009!
Just man up and admit that Folsom beat DLS fair and square. Just like they did the very next regular season in 2022 before the Spartans got revenge during the Regional. You certainly can't use the same lame excuse for that game too!
No differing circumstances. Just an 'L'.

Game of the Week Poll- https://norcalpreps.forums.rivals.com/threads/week-2-pickem-game-of-the-week-poll.30664/
Expect SH to take full advantage of this matchup vs lesser opponent. Im looking for 300 yard passing game by Sargent, 100 yard rushing game by Williams, 3 receivers with 75+ yards receiving, and at least 1 defensive TD score. Will not have an opponent like this the rest of the year to exercise last year's demons. 49-6 Irish. The Sacred Heart Cathedral Fightin' Irish, some 671 Days after their last football victory, are slated to travel to Soledad this afternoon to take on The Soledad Aztecs. Soledad, a small community of a little over 24,000 with 4,000 or so being inmates at Salinas Valley State Prison, will also be looking to notch a tally in the win column after a dismal 1-9 2023 season with their lone win coming to start up Rancho San Juan 20-14.
This matchup in scheduled for a 7:30pm kickoff and will be broadcasted exclusively on the NFHS Network!
rookie............sounds more like a dookie. Be sure to have a plumber's helper available. This is Block’s new MO…. He is all over the National Boards Trolling everyone as a So Cal fan and his Schtick is “So Cal is a Different Level”…. He is even Bashing Folsom and pretending he doesn’t know who they are….
He has been outed by the Mods and everyone else…. Will never understand what is wrong with that dude…. 🤣
Yes, the editors need to up their game. The construction begs confusion. Those sentences have to be read multiple times to make sure they are correctly understood and hardly anyone does "close reads" on sports articles while sipping their morning coffee. This is from the Chronicle, previewing some nonleague games.
SEPT. 14
St. John Bosco at No. 4 Serra — The Padres lost 45-0 to the Braves in the 2022 state final. Meanwhile, Serra will welcome back SJB offensive coordinator Steve Lo, who held the same position for the Padres.
Rather ambiguous sentence. I think what they MEAN to say is that Steve Lo, former OC for Serra, is the OC for Bosco. Serra will "welcome Lo Back" when the two teams play on 9/14.
The editor needs a new line of work, if you ask me...
I hate the “______ weren’t into it” excuse that many fans use. We can all point to times when a team was prime for a letdown for various reasons, and yet they still won. Look, DLS won the earlier match up, and Folsom won the second game…that’s it. There are too many examples to recite where top teams rolled a team early in the season, only to lose to the same team at the end of the season. Folsom v Grant comes to front of my mind.
It happens at every level of sports. No excuses.
The Big Difference is that was a Letdown game for DLS who’s Hearts were not in the game after getting Completely Jobbed and left out of the Open for an undeserving Serra team that got Boat-raced on their Home Field by SF and played a terrible schedule other then their league game against SF…..
DLS held decisive wins over the SD Open Champ (28 pts), the SJS D1 Champ (20 pts) and the NCS D1 Champ (28 pts)…. No other Nor Cal team had a Resume anywhere near this…..
DLS rightfully expected to play in the open and when they didn’t the kids were crushed and they were never into playing in the D1AA regional….
So totally different circumstances…..
