Week 5 Game of the Week Poll

Agreed...to have a tie for the top spot, and one of them includes Mack vs SRV...SMH
in all fairness. mack and srv always play a very close high scoring entertaining game so based on the past few years people might expect more of the same if there not closely following the two teams. this years game will be a defensive battle decided by a couple big plays one way or another. but will definitely be one of the closer games of the ones on this list.

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

"...I have a very close informant that told me 95% of their school's 8th grade class got into DLS. Some of those boys are C-minus students. I was always under the impression you had to get at least B's to get into the schools. Apparently not..."

I can confirm this is a true statement. Basically any 8th grade boy from a Concord/WC/PH parochial grade school that wants to will get in to DLS.
you mean a catholic high school wants to accept kids from its feeder catholic schools? color us shocked

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

Ive spoken to a few parents (some with kids still enrolled and some that have left), the ones that have stayed arent really thrilled with the academics there and the ones that have left have gone because the academics were not great. One's experience does not speak for all. And not singling out Riordan, because I have a very close informant that told me 95% of their school's 8th grade class got into DLS. Some of those boys are C-minus students. I was always under the impression you had to get at least B's to get into the schools. Apparently not.

You're giving far too much credit, LL. I mean, can you point to one legit informative or insightful post he's ever made? His recent trashing of Jesuit's program doesn't at all demonstrate a person "in the know". Nor does his Folsom hyperbole.

The only strong interest and tenacity on display here is his relentless insistence on sophomoric trolling behavior.
True, I'm thinking more of a few comments on the hoop board. Otherwise I totally agree.

Week 5 Game of the Week Poll

2 games of interest to me.
1. Newman vs BOD. Newman has a lot of hopes for tipping the scales this year and beating MC but hasn't played anybody yet. BOD looks improved and has already wrestled with Monte Vista and Mack. The game is at Newman so I give a slide edge to CN but should be one of the better small school games in norcal. Newman will need to be able to pass a little and clean up the mistakes.

That's because you're a alumni homer. 🤣

Week 5 Game of the Week Poll

Truth.

But in fairness to PITT, them playing against SJB is akin to SJB playing against a competent D1 college team. SJB would get rolled too.

If it were under the rules of yesteryear with kids "mostly" from the East Bay-Pittsburg area lining up against kids "mostly" from Bellflower, CA. I'd like the Pirates chances a lot better.

Yup same guy. I will say this is a bit comical and enjoyable at times and "he" does get out and watch hs sports. I'm not saying he's breaking down the game like a coach would but he clearly has a strong interest in the hs game. A real tenacious one.

Does anyone else besides myself think that this might be the Folsom clown that used to post on here all the time.

He speaks about administrations. He talks about programs being dead. Sounds kind of familiar. In could be wrong but would place a gentleman’s bet that it is the same guy.

I recently hinted at the possibility of it being a burner account when I advised the clown to step up his game or prepare to be ignored en mass.

Just too many red flags to ignore. If the sophomoric handle wasn't enough, the content was even worse. He was added to my ignore list pretty quickly thereafter.

The humorous part is that this clown actually believes he's being clever by adding red herrings, such as trashing the SFL, NorCal, and mixing in the occasional barb toward Folsom. What's even more hilarious is how much time and effort he spends doing all this. I mean, how long has this been going on now? Close to a decade??

If it isn't everyone's least favorite Folsom Maxpreps reporter, then it's someone really going out of their way to make everyone believe it's him. There's only one other known troll-ish personality I can think of that would go to all that trouble. I won't mention the name, but that person also fits the M.O.

I'd bet to a 95% certainty that it's one of the two. Thankfully, we have the ignore feature the rely upon.

PCAL Week 3

That 2002 team was a fun team to watch. Ruthless defense. Neligh, Dozier, Taylor, etc. were animals.

I can't recall but was DI treated like the open back then? or was it all enrollment based? I know the open was created a couple years later that had multiple publics opt in nearly ever year.
The divisions were enrollment based at that point. Salinas had won D-II over Hollister the prior year, so Coach Ironside felt the next logical step was D-I.

In order to be able to opt up, you had to finish among the top 8 in the CCS in terms of playoff points.

2002 was also the year the they finally beat Palma. First time the Chieftains had lost to a Monterey County team in some 20 years.

Sorry, I meant to post that comment on Moist n Plump’s last comment🤣
GUYS..What happened to Freedom was it was an area of new homes, but the population that moved into it changed every thing..A lot of these homes were sceduled to a section 8 and what happened is what you see. Grades are a killer here and it went down hill right away, in the early years saw many skill players grad and move on but none ever showed up... The followingwas good and it went down hill as you see now..
