Are you serious? As of 1997 which the Gary Porter Modesto Christian Crusaders team went 33-0. Modesto Christian has more Wins than any other team in Northern California as of 1997. If a Player like Jamari Phillips wants to go to a school, he thought he wanted to go then so be it. If a player feels they won't get playing time due to the high standards of behavioral expectations, then so be it. If a poster wants to attempt to arouse controversial sensation online commenting on a high school prep website, then so be it. NO Not Worried, are you?
i wasn't trying to make accusations or throw any shade at modesto christian (stellar program) i was genuinely curious. with the way these prep "schools" recruit and steal kids from real programs i was wondering if any of the prep programs were trying to get there tentacles on the kid.

I can’t speak as I am not an alum, but there is serious rumors in the moist clouds that he may end up at either Folsom or Mater Dei. His NIL deal would be a lot more plump at Mater Dei of all schools. As further rumors fly in, i will update further. I am a master of knowledge of MC even though I live in Contra Costa County and they are in Alameda County, or wait. I think MC is in Stanislaus Valley.
mater dei doesnt really do nil for basketball any more thats why they havent had a competitive team in years. sierra canyon is the so cal nil school

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

Good stuff there Arm! All great numbers and I'm all for our SF catholic schools growing and continuing to provide the kids/families who choose to go that route a catholic education and become productive members of society. There are far too many sad stories of Catholic high schools, middle schools closing throughout the Bay Area.

Again, one or two or few students/families bad experiences at Riordan or any catholic school for that matter defines the experience of others. Sometimes it doesnt work or they are seeking something else and they'll find it at another school.
from a long term standpoint the closing of some of the catholic schools might be a responsible and good decision by the respective dioceses. if they consolidate campuses to have bigger, more well supported campuses, it allows schools to have a bigger impact and better support students. riordan is actually a great example of this. going coed and expanding the campus, while it required closing another campus, allowed more students to be reached and better supported than keeping two separate campuses did.

Serra's end of 1st Half Issues

in each of those games what seems to happen is that serra gets the ball halfway through the second quarter and they focus on trying to hold the ball for the rest of the half instead of continuing there normal game plan. which leads to them punting and leaving the other team with too much time. then they change there defense up to try and make it to halftime which results in big plays for the opponent.

basically right now they have a habit of getting out of there gameplans in the second half of second quarters. they have a top 3 coaching staff in nor cal (minimum) so theyl'll clean it up sooner rather then later.

I don't think p

And I personally know many parents who are thrilled that their sons AND daughters are thriving at Riordan. At the end of the day, parents were considering just 2 SF private catholic schools - Riordan and SI. The school has the fastest growing enrollment of all the SF High Schools and it's the most diverse at 74% of its school population. It's exceeded its incoming freshman classes each of the past 4 years . The school has a 50% acceptance rate with a wait list.(avg private school acceptance rate is 85% and is in the top 20% of private schools in CA. The Boarding program is full. I don't think parents would be shelving out $60K/year if the academics were terrible. More importantly, the schools endowment has grown significantly. 80% of the football team is on the honor roll from a recent interview with Coach Ravipati including its QB who has a 4.0 GPA. https://www.privateschoolreview.com/compare-schools/1310/4010/3622#results

Week 5 Game of the Week Poll

Maybe, even probably, but:

Pitt can probably score on just about anybody.

SJB travels to NorCal two weeks in a row, they might not be at their best.

Even if it goes running-clock, an 84-37 game would be fun as heck to watch.

Besides, none of the other games look all that terrific... A few aren't too bad, but not obviously GOTW-worthy.
Pittsburg heads down there this week

Serra's end of 1st Half Issues

Going over Serra's season and the end of the first half has been an issue for the Padres.

Gave up a touchdown to Folsom on the final play of the half for the deficit to go from 14-13 to 21-13

Gave up a 90+ yard drive to De La Salle in the final minute to take that game from 7-3 to 14-3

Gave up two TDs to SJB in the final four or so minutes to take that game from 14-10 to 28-10

Not saying it is something Serra is doing wrong, but it is at least a trend through the first three games

"...I have a very close informant that told me 95% of their school's 8th grade class got into DLS. Some of those boys are C-minus students. I was always under the impression you had to get at least B's to get into the schools. Apparently not..."

I can confirm this is a true statement. Basically any 8th grade boy from a Concord/WC/PH parochial grade school that wants to will get in to DLS.
DLS doesnt have much competition as far as another catholic high school within the area/proximity. They have built that reputation as the go to school in the 925 for decades now. One thing that was eye opening is whenever you drive by and see the vehicles in the parking lot, its virtually all huge pick up trucks. Kids driving $45-50k+ cars is bananas to me. You drive by SI and kids are in Land Rovers/Range Rovers.
