Nor Cal Tip Off Classic (November 30 at Dublin HS) - ELEVEN players committed to Division I schools

An impressive ELEVEN players that have currently committed to Division I schools will be participating in the Nor Cal Tip Off Classic, all in the class of 2025 except 2026 Myles Jones of Modesto Christian who has committed to Stanford.

Other Division I commits (all in the 2025 class): Elijah Perryman of Clayton Valley (Utah State), Luke Isaac of San Ramon Valley (UC Irvine), Antony Moore of Lincoln (Weber State), Chase Rawlins of Folsom (UC Davis), Hudson Mayes of Redondo Union (Central Michigan), Alec Blair of De La Salle (Oklahoma), Peyton White of Crespi (Nevada), Kellen Hampton of Moreau Catholic (Pacific), Gavin Sykes of Modesto Christian (Long Beach State) and Ry Atkins of Modesto Christian (Air Force).

Diaz-Infante (Bellarmine)

I think so. I have been around football my entire life and I have gotten to see the inside of both public and private. The WCAL is cut throat, and the guys who are winning/competing have given a clear picture of what the model looks like. Bellarmine and any other school on the outside looking in can either join the party or be left out.

Most of the publics choose willful ignorance and stick to the "education based athletics, no sport is more important than any other, and none are more important than academics." Quickest way to the PAL basement is that kind of thinking. And it's everywhere.

Suggestions for Modifying CCS Play-off rules

Since the Gabilan can only have six teams make the play-offs even with an Alvarez win over Palma they will be the third at-large team presented as they have fewer points and can't get in. Clearly if Alvarez beat Palam their Calprep ranking would go up and Palma would go down but I don't think it would get Alvarez in front of either Palma or Hollister.
If this does happen, (Alvarez beating Palma would be a big if) the CCS needs to consider the "eye ball" rule that NCS has. Alvarez would be 2-4 in the Gabilan tied for 4th place while both Palma and Hollister would be 1-5. Alvarez would of beaten both Palma and Hollister yet those 2 teams leapfrog Alvarez into the playoffs? That just seems wrong to me.

El Cerrito

And now its official that they violated numerous NCS policies and will be on probation for 2 years + no postseason this year (Story)
The opening sentence of the article notes that EC self reported the illegible players to the NCS section. I thought, OK, maybe Rincon just made a mistake. But then I remembered and it was also disclosed in this article that it was the school administrator who reported the violations and not Rincon himself. In fact, Rincon was placed on administrative leave.

I hope EC can get their program straightened out for the good of the kids in the programs the El Cerritos community.

NorCal Preseason HS basketball rankings- my top 10

NJ Gray at Branson…he’s only a sophomore but he’s going to be one of the best players in the area.

Kellen Hampton also another one who should be on that list…..glad he’s back at Moreau

Justin-Sienna is 56-10 over their past two seasons and I’d imagine this season will be just like the previous two.

If we’re putting teams from Stockton on the list than I think Modesto Christian should be on it.

Also I think two teams people are forgetting about are Si and Santa Cruz….both had nice seasons last year and will probably do better than expected this season.
Siena does not end up being a top 10 team in any of those seasons your including in 56-10 seasons. They are a dominant d4 team. Strong d3. Solid D 2. It ends there … Maybe this year they are better ? Santa Cruz if Hunter stayed they will be good. We like his game a lot !
