Liberty hands California its first loss. RJ Prince threw a complete game and added a hit in the win. Liberty is 5-2 with losses to Dougherty Valley and College Park.

First of all, a big ups to Campolindo for giving me a very compelling reason to skip going to Arco Barn and head instead to American Canyon this Saturday! GO COUGARS!!

Anyway, here are my picks for Saturday's NorCal games:

Open : O'Dowd 64-55, powerhouse rolls on
Div 1: Woodcreek 70-66, continuing magical season
Div. 2: Mitty 57-53 in slugfest
Div. 3: Campo 63-57, gets 'em back for Dec. 20 game
Div. 4: St. Mary's 71-63... or maybe the other way 'round, who knows? But I'll stick with the SM guess
Div. 5: Brookside Chr. 73-70 (but they'll need their legs to recover after that 3OT win Tuesday)

I know this is a Nor Cal board, but just thought this was a huge win for Mater Dei as they try and get to 5 in a row. I think if they advance it would be a do over of last years state championship. Revenge has to be on BOD'S mind. First things first they have to get past MC.

You lost at HOME in the FIRST ROUND to Berkeley!? After we paved the way for you to basically run through D1, you go and do this!?

Pretty bold prediction last week saying we would lose last night and you would be moving on. What a joke. A HOME LOSS in the first round!? Are you kidding me!?

I think this serves as an example for everyone on here what happens when you state you know more than others do about the game, and continue to run your mouth. What a great example someone like HEAT is.

Mitty led most of the way by as much as 20 but a late four point play and a buzzer beating half court shot at the end made it look closer. Sebastian Much is back in the lineup as well and the freshman Grigsby . Grigsby had some good minutes and Much was rusty but played ok. This should make the Mitty vs Sac game a good one!

Is Tuesday's game really going to be played at Serra's ancient, 60-year-old facility? Good luck with that. Air conditioning? Uh, no. Comfy seating? Uh, no. Reasonable space beyond the baselines? Uh, no. Narrow sidelines? Uh, yes. Enough room for 1,500 or so fans? Not even close. Can you say "College of San Mateo" or "Skyline College" or even "Aragon High school (great, new gym that seats 1,600)? We shall see.

Cade Peters went 4-for-4 and Karsten Lee, Matt Avila and Raymond Solis each had two RBI.

Jesuit led 6-4 going to the seventh, but St. Mary's scored six runs in the seventh. Tanner Dodson got the start for the Marauders.

Jeremy Ydens threw five shutout innings with eight strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a double in the league opener.

The Bells handed Valley Christian its first loss of the year behind a complete game from Sid Iyer. He threw a four hitter with eight strikeouts.

WCAL season opened up on Tuesday. Kris Bubic threw a complete game with nine strikeouts. Kyle Mora had 2 hits.
