Palma and St Frances-MV grapple today in dual match in Salinas

Palma (#2 in CCS last year) has a few very good wrestlers. Not sure they will place #2 this year, but should be in the top 5-6 in CCS and #2 in their league behind Gilroy. Their #1 wrestler transferred to Christopher, but have a few that shoulkd place in CCS and go onto state. Not a strong in the upper weights as last year losing two top setion wrestlers at Hvwt and 220 that are wrestlking in college now.

St Francis has a few good wrestlers as well. Should be a good match.

Irish Win CCS Division III Soccer Title 3-3-2012

Sacred Heart Cathedral defeated North Monterey County 2-1 to win the CCS Division III soccer championship. This is the first championship ever won by the Irish in soccer.
SHC was the only WCAL team to win a CCS championship this season. Watsonville won D-I that had Serra in it (and NO Bellarmine), San Mateo and Willow Glen sharing D-II with Mitty, SI and WCAL champ St. Francis playing and here come the Irish to win D-III. Three CCS titles in one day (The others were boys and girls basketball titles). Go Irish!

What is the word on one of the best hs soccer leagues around? Any advanced news out of CAL, SRV, & DLS camps?
The Spartans are going for the 5peat at NCS which would be a huge accomplishment. No they don't recruit, SRV, CAL and MV are loaded with top club players so no complaints how life or the league is not fair. Dont forget 2 years ago DLS did not win league.
Nov 5th is just around the corner for the start of Winter Sports

2013 Wrestling CCS Championship Updates

So far sortly after round 2

Teams:

1. Gilroy 67.0;
2. Palma 54.5;
3. Saint Francis 48.0;
4. Alisal 44.0;
5. Serra 43.5;
6. Mitty 42.0;
7 Gunn 41.0

Looking like Gilroy is going to be tough to catch with positions they hav moving forward unless some major upsets. Palma coul close some. Looks like St Francis could catch Palma (will probably go back and forth through rounds), but most likely not at the end with wrestlers in position to score. SF moves forward at lower-mid weights and Palma moves ahead at upper weights. However, Palma and SF could be a battle to the end. MBL Gabelon Division though looks like the WCAL in football though. Alisal and Christopher have been doing well.
