WCJ: A stellar hoops buffet

We tend to take it for granted now. The long-tenured West Coast Jamboree is simply a regular part of the Bay Area holiday prep sports calendar in 2023. It's well underway as we speak. This year, there are 96 teams, all of them varying in overall strength and competitive lineage, listed in a dozen separate brackets spread over 12 venues. Organizing and presenting this ambitious event (with roughly 1,000 athletes and their coaches), the largest of its kind in the U.S., are daunting tasks indeed. But Clay, Harold and others dedicate themselves to making the games proceed as seamlessly as possible. There are always some glitches along the way. No shock there. But, by and large, the WCJ is a classic in its genre. Congratulations. Again.

NBL Oak Opening Week

Montgomery was very fortunate to escape with a hard fought victory against cross town rival Cardinal Newman 47-45. For those thinking that Newman was potentially going to have a down year after last year's postseason run and graduating some studs, let me tell you right now...that's not the case, not the case at all! It was a battle! Vikings were down starting 3 year varsity player, Will Grafe due to injury and Newman is down their big and have a stud coming aboard in a couple days. Great game. The Viking Dome was packed! @northbaybbguru was in attendance and will verify that Newman is in good shape for another postseason run...and very young! I'm sure @larry legend33 and @winetot were watching from the comfort of their homes.......and who knows...maybe even @Bitter Branson Fan . The next rerun at Fitzgerald Gymnasium will be a grind for sure! Cheers to entertaining and well coached high school basketball!

Grateful For This Forum

I just wanted to wish everyone here a Merry Xmas and happy holidays.

Last year was one of the best years of my life, as I got to travel the country helping Coach one of the top teams in America.

As crazy as this sounds, all that wouldn’t have been possible without everyone here on the message boards. Both the positive and negative comments.

Right now my Hall team is doing extremely well, and while I would love to be on the road right now, I’m happy and grateful to be at home here in SF. Getting to watch a really special Hall team come together and play some tough competition in the BCL West this year.

Whether we’ve interacted in real life (good seeing you yesterday Ethan), met at basketball games (I see you Marcskit) or even just the occasional comment….Hope this year and next are good to you.

Because life is way too short to be upset.

Maxwell Anderson > Moreau > Weber State

Back 2 back 2x FCS All American. 2x All Big Sky 1st team. Just finished senior year. Hopeful to be the next Bay Area kid called up to the NFL
