Analy won the 7th-pace game over Truckee, 61-20.

Right now, the 5th-place game features two schools over 300 miles away, yet just 12 miles apart.

Bakersfield Christian faces Bakersfield North, from now on I’ll refer to the two as Bako and North, like I have been during earlier games.

And I’ll do the Cliff’s notes version while I’m on my pesto high.

Ran across this crazy story this morning and thought our board here would find it fascinating. An officiating error on the final play of the game swung the result of the Central Section SemiFinal and the recipient of the bad call finds itself still playing in the SoCal 4-AA final this weekend.

Seems to me like the section got it wrong by not overruling the final score. But I do “sorta” understand their reasoning (ie…are we opening Pandora’s Box by allowing a protest that wasn’t properly filed at the time - albeit because the officials left the field)

As the season is now under way, we know that frosh and JV will be short games due to various reasons. Here is what I have to offer.

Fill-in Game: 12/19 @8p at Kimball high school (need a FROSH team to play a single game in my tournament) Frosh/soph team can be accepted.

F/JV Winter SHOOTOUT; 1/13/2024 @ Kimball high School. (Your frosh or JV or both can play one or two games if you need a few) One day event Only.

Evergreen 59 Hollister 54 Good opening night tilt for both teams. Evergreen was 20-8 last year and returns everyone. The Haybalers were a solid 18-5, but lost several seniors. Evergreen star, Ryka Aprameyan scored 33 to lead the way for the Cougars who pulled away late for the win.

Milpitas 43 Palo Alto 14 This is going to be a tough season for the Vikings who lost their longtime coach and nearly everyone else from last season's strong open squad. Milpitas played without Nohe'alani Stores and struggled to a 14-10 halftime lead before blowing it open with a 17-0 third quarter

The 23rd Annual Russ Peterich Tournament at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa opens this Thursday. This long standing, top "kickoff tournament" in the North Bay runs Thursday through Saturday (November 30th to December 2nd). The tournament has attracted some locals from around the bay and a quality group from out of the area. Entries include Monterey Trail, San Marin, Analy, Campolindo, North Bakersfield, Bakersfield Christian, Truckee and Montgomery. First round matchups on Thursday are as follows:

4:00 Analy vs Monterey Trail
5:30 Bakersfield Christian vs San Marin
7:00 Campolindo vs North Bakersfield
8:30 Truckee vs Montgomery

Should be a high quality, early season tournament bringing together competitive teams and outstanding players.

Just watched the freshman game, where Vanden won 43-32.

Jesuit is up at Oak Ridge 51-33 late in 3rd. Mauraders are in full control. Epperson and Haught both having good games.
