WCAL Lacrosse question

First off I know nothing of this sport other than my brother in-law pestering me to come to one of his son's games [I'm afraid I'm hardcore football, basketball & baseball with some track & field thrown in].
For those of you in the know: do all WCAL schools participate in Lacrosse & if so do all have a JV & Varsity?
For years the only school I ever heard of in this sport was SI who is apparently is the De La Salle of Lacrosse & highly regarded. I've heard of SI players getting actual scholarships for this sports [to Ivy League schools], but don't know how common those types of athletic scholarships are. Have never been to a game, but thinking I'll have to capitulate to my brother in-law wishes soon. Please someone tell me its more fun to watch than water polo or field hockey ....
[BTW - how long do the games last?]
