Don't know if you heard but Newmans Jack Pezzelo (UCD Commit) pitched a perfect game with 18 K's against Vallejo yesterday. Per Gus Morris from Press Democrat this was a a school record and tied for 5th on CALHI history. Newman won 9-0 and faces Alameda next. Pretty amazing when you think about it even if it was a 1v16 game.
That is Awesome!!… there are only 21 outs in a High School Baseball Game!,… 🤣
That kid can pitch, he pitched against College Park, he was consistently High 80’s Fastball and his off speed was in the low 70’s, one of the best pitchers CP faced this year….
Him and Jancelli are as good a Top 2 as any team in Nor Cal has….

Yeah, tall order. Casa has really been hit hard by injuries all year and been a bit inconsistent. I would guess Mercado will be throwing against the Dons. Obviously would’ve been a much different team with Steeves healthy.

Newman pitchers have struck out 30 batters in the first 2 playoff games. Benicia will be a really good test. I thought if they get past them they will repeat as NCS champs. And I would not be surprised if Ukiah comes out of the other bracket.
This is a Nice Final Four!…. Having seen 3 of these teams In Person, I Like CN over Benicia, I just think the pitching Combo of Pezzolo and Moreda will be too much for Benicia’s offense….
The other game is a toss up, I haven’t seen Ukiah, I do really like Redwood, they are a very good team and it thought from the beginning it would come down to Redwood and CN so i guess i will go with them…. 🤣
DLS loaded the bases with no outs on a walk and 2 errors. 1 out base hit scores 2. 5-3 DLS still batting
Final was 7-3 DLS. CP had the first 2 runners on in the 7th to knock on the door, but that was it. CP had their chances, but DLS took advantage of some errors and put it away. The DLS 3rd baseman made 2 incredible plays that halted CP rallies. Good effort by the Falcons.
Saw it on NFHS... That dude at the hot corner was channeling his inner Brooks Robinson!

Totally!…. The Diving play he made in the top of the 5th is what I thought swung the game!…. CP had 2 men on and would have scored 1 or 2, instead, they don’t score either and DLS ties the game in the bottom of the inning….
