Tracy (6-0) stayed undefeated with a league opening win over Lodi (4-5). The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the first with two runs against Lodi senior starter Jacob Jordan. Josh Alvarado and Nathan George scored after two errors by the Flames. In total, Lodi committed four errors and issued seven walks to one of two undefeated teams left in the NCP Top 20.
Lee Brewer, Tracy’s leadoff hitter, drew three of the seven walks to up his season total to eight. Chandlyr Metal had a RBI for Tracy, which got six innings from senior Cody Bolton (Michigan), who gave up an unearned run, two hits and three walks against eight strikeouts.
Jordan pitched into the seventh himself and gave up two earned runs, four hits and three walks. He struck out six. Junior Evan Webb and senior Ben Prentiss each had doubles in the loss.
