I'd like to congratulate current Amador Valley and former Cal High freshman head coach Bill Hoefs for his recent win vs. DLS. This now makes Hoefs 17-0 against DLS baseball all time and in the last 8 1/2 years. Coach Hoefs is also the longtime Cal High JV football coach and is now at SRV that wins 8-9 games a year on the gridiron. There simply is not a better lower level coach in all of NorCal at any sport. 17-0! Congrats coach!

Cal High kids really connected with "Hayffs" as he was a campus supervisor after retiring his badge. Excellent coach and knew when to bark and when to lend an ear. He took a skinny babe ruth pitcher, turned him into the all time QB rating leader at Cal High and by senior year, outrated two FBS guys from EBAL. Took my other and turned him into all league numbers. Cal's loss is SRV and AV baseball's gain.
