Whitney (12-3) completed a three game sweep of Folsom (6-8) with a 10-3 win yesterday. Sam Thawley went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Other SFL scores were Oak Ridge (9-6) over Granite Bay 6-7) 10-7 despite five seventh inning runs from the Grizzlies. Andy Uharriet improved to 5-0. Rocklin (7-8) shutout Del Oro (10-5) 10-0. The Thunder won the final two games after dropping the opener. Oakdale (10-6) earned a split against Central Catholic (10-7) with a 2-1 win. Johnny Wylie struck out nine in a complete game effort. This was the Raiders’ first loss in league play.

Leland (5-9) completed the two game sweep of Willow Glen (11-5-1) with a 9-3 victory behind six runs in the seventh inning. The Chargers have won three in a row. Leigh (13-3) bounced back from an extra inning loss to Wilcox to beat Prospect (6-8) 2-1. Two of Leigh’s three losses were by one run. Pacific Grove (4-10) earned a split with Palma (13-3) after Thursday’s 7-2 win. The result leaves San Benito (9-5 overall) alone in first place. Branham (12-4) outlasted Wilcox (13-5) in an 8-7 victory. Branham plays a key two game set against Leigh next week.

Pittsburg (12-4) scored four runs over the last two innings to beat Heritage (9-6) 7-6 for a two game split. Cole Leschak and Gio Fuentes each had two RBI for the Pirates. Granada (11-5) shutout Amador Valley (5-10) 2-0 at the Alhambra Easter Tournament. Joshua Morano threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts. Marin Catholic (13-3) beat Branson (5-8) 6-1 for its fourth straight win. Alex Saavedra had two doubles and Kody Perry struck out six batters in five innings.

Expect Heritage to make some changes after the season. Their underperformance compared to their talent level is unacceptable.
