Was able to finally attend a Stuart Hall game this past week.

Biggest thing I noticed, which I guess occurred last season is that there are warnings given for improper wearing of a Mask.

Mask must be worn over the nose and mouth all game, at all times.

What I have been told (and saw personally) is a player gets a warning, and must exit the game the first time. If Caught a second time its technical foul.

Will be interesting to see if this affects any games, but I personally am in favor of the rule. We gotta do whatever we can to keep basketball going!

The mask rules probably vary quite a bit, depending on city, county, section, and/or league.

There were masks on the players at Campo yesterday, but few if any had them over the nose or mouth, so they all looked like they had fake beards.

Fans had 'em on properly, at least where I could see. I believe the refs did, too.

Agreed, in the Sacramento area the mask rule seems to vary by county and school district. We were told going into the season that players would be required to wear them during game play and we prepared them all for that. At our first game, the players were told they could take them off during play, but had to wear them while on the bench. The coaches and scorers table wore masks, as did the the JV officials. The varsity officials did not wear masks.

NCS teams require masks for all players, even during game play. I heard coaches have proposed to NCS for players to not have to wear masks if tested once a week. They would still have to wear masks while on the bench.

It definitely varies county to county, school district to school district. We scrimmaged at an NCS and CCS school already. Both schools most of the players had masks at their chins. The NCS school we played had players warm up with no mask on and came on the floor for tip-off without a mask present at all. Wasn’t until the referees told the players to put on masks which they proceeded to play with on their chin.

But the Mission at SI scrimmage the referees were constantly reminding the players to keep their mask on. So it will be based on county or district, but also enforcement in game will vary as well.
