6pm kickoff at beautiful Marson Stadium in Colfax. There will he an electric atmosphere as the entire town of 1500 are expected to show up. The town had a parade for the team last weekend, the Chamber of Commerce hosted a team breakfast on Tuesday and a huge town night rally occurred Thursday. This is the biggest thing to hit Colfax since Warren G Harding stopped for lunch on the railroad in 1924.

The rosters on paper are somewhat mismatched with SDHS boasting several recruits as well as the number one sophomore prospect in the San Diego area. They have a student population of 2400 while Colfax has 581 students. Colfax is comprised of small town boys who have grown up together all their lives and are coached by one of the finest in Northern California in Tony Martello. Martello likes to mix up his offensive scheme but is most comfortable throwing.

It’s going to be a wonderful night win or lose for this community.

How does a school with an enrollment of 600 end up playing in a State Bowl Game against a school of 2400?

In the present format teams are paired based on the opinions of some section representatives who try to pair teams that have the same skill level regardless of enrollment. Dumb and politically correct
