Sorry.. I know this is a baseball thread but I just had to get this off my chest.

Softball D3..

#12 Berkeley (3400 kids) defeats #5 Cloverdale (400 kids)

Cloverdale (21-3l moved up from D5
Berkeley (11-15) dropped from D1.

Once again a small school having a generational year gets hosed by the system. Instead of staying at their level with a chance at a special ending they get thrust up against a school with 3000 more kids. If a school goes 11-15 and has to get DROPPED 2 divisions to qualify for the pkayoffs..maybe just maybe they shouldn't be in the playoffs. Just effing dumb..

Totally Agree!!!…. If you are a 11-15 team you don’t deserve to be in the playoffs at all!….

It’s like having 3 win football teams dropped down and making the playoffs, just Rediculous!….

I would think something like this, if they're gonna keep this CE thing going (and I don't see it changing anytime soon...)

At least limit it to one division up or down MAX. And also make it so teams below .500 are out.

How generational were they if they couldn't beat a 11 win team?
Also you seen the students at Berkeley? They aren't exactly the athletic types.

There will always be a team or group of teams that gets the short end of the stick. However, it is usually the small public schools that get the tough draw the most often. And that isn't all that surprising.

What’s the correct system ?

Can Move up 2 only down 1 ?
I would go back to enrollemnt based divisions and then make tweaks for the outliers as they come up. That would probably some context on how teams get slotted where while still not letting (mostly private) school sit in lower divisions and blow out the competition.
