De La Salle beats Duncanville at Hoophall West

HW will win by double digits

Just a different level of ball
Gonna hold you to this. DLS is well coached. So well coached they play in events like this. We shall see what happens. But the real fact is that they take on such a challenge. What do they got one D1 player who is actually a better baseball player

DLS and Riordan may run NorCal. But I think Boscos and HW are just on different levels.

If the CIF allowed Public and Private to play Prep Schools, we could have some seriously good matchups. Prolific vs Bosco or Prolific vs HW, but CIF has ruined any potential of that.

I think a team that could compete, probably not beat but compete with HW and Bosco would be St Joes Santa Maria, but they should be in SoCal not NorCal.

Why should they play prep schools. You can’t be serious. Jason Kidd, Aaron Gordon, Gary Payton, Brian Shaw, I could rattle off many. Why would they benefit from prep schools. That’s 500mil sitting there. You really pump the prep schools. Many don’t need it

You know you bring this motor school stuff up all the time. Provide us a list of what has been produced.

Their are way more NBA players from the SF Bay Area than any damn prep school in this state that has had way better careers.

Put your list together. I will give you Jalen Green. What happened to the kid rhat went to Kansas.

Cause I could start rattling off many high school names.

I feel that the basketball academies are an entirely different animal than the private 'college prep" schools. Personally, I have ZERO interest in Prolific Prep or any of those types of basketball factories as it isn't high school basketball it's an entirely different sport IMO. I suspect that the vast majority of the kids who go the basketball academy route might be better served by attending either public or private high schools instead.

The way I look at prep-academy ball is: NBA-style play by kids who, while incredibly talented, are simply not physically or mentally capable of playing that style very well... in almost all cases.

However, by the time they get to that national tournament at the end of March, the teams that become good enough to make it there are MUCH more ready.

I don't watch much academy ball during the regular season, but that national event is excellent.

Yeah that pony has been beaten to death. Josh Jackson I think. Meh.. Didn't do much. Don't need the prep schools at all. Don't fill any need if you ask me. You telling me you aren't going to get that at Harvard Westlake, SJB, Notre Dame SO... or hell the #1 team in the nation is a public school in LA. I have zero desire to watch any of that either. Zero. I was highly entertained watching good HS hoops over at Folsom this weekend. Plenty of talented kids.
Nobody on here is talking about a #2 option on his Folsom HS team who is looking like the rookie of the year in the NBA for Memphis. jaylen Wells!! He was destroying folks at Sonoma State ! If you know anything about cosssaks ball that is a far cry from the private plane rides at Monte Verde and IMG.

If you are good.... They will find you. Or if you aren't and your name is bronny or bryce they will find you as well.

You bringing up people from 20 years isn't all that beneficial. Times have changed, the OAL has changed. Inner city Oakland has changed.
Bishop and st Joe's were the prep schools back when Jason and Brian were in school.

There isn't a kid playing at st Joe's, Castlemont, skyline or encinal highs today that could play at a national prep. But at those prep kids are highly ranked in the national rankings.

Eastvale is not los angeles city or county.

Two players come to mind where staying at their respective schools would have still provided a good opportunity at the next level. Those 2 come to mind, I'm sure there are others. Recently it is good seeing players who went to a Prep Academy returning back to their high schools (I.e. Zion Sensley (PP-Riordan) and Kellen Hampton (SCA-Moreau)
  • Jamari Phillips-Modesto Christian. MC already plays a pretty strong schedule year in and year out providing plenty of exposure
  • King Wilhite-Riordan. Real head scratcher leaving Riordan in late December right before the WCAL season started for Red Rock Academy-NV. Now at CCSF.

Jamari and King were dominating local kids..
Went prep and realized how good others are.
