Posting this one early before doing interviews from the girls game.

Both teams are making their first appearances in the state title game.

Getting my first in-person look at Norris... Dude is loooonnnnngggggggg! Looks to be real smooth mover, too.

St Pats leads 8-7 with 335 left in Q1.

Former St. Pats standout Jalen Canty in the house today.

St. Pats leads Helix 14-7 END Q1. Henderson had a strong baseline take for a jam as part of his 4 pt/4 reb quarter

Helix wins Q2 13-5 to take a 20-19 lead over St. Pats at halftime. Miles Norris has 8 points and 6 rebounds

One-point game at the half, Helix up as they "strive for the ultimate prize", as Helix grad Bill Walton might say...

I know its fun for these kids to play in an NBA arena but the shooting yesterday and today so far has been awful on both the girls side and the boys side. Really should play at Cal

SPSV missed 15 straight shots in Q2. Much of the shot selection wasn't good, but they are ice cold. Looks like Helix length giving them some problems. You can tell both teams are talented.

I am rooting for SPSV but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't sting that Mission, SPSV, Moreau (3/6 teams that beat us) might all end with rings but we lost to a stacked team.

I don't know much about Helix but that Tavian Henderson dude on SPSV is a real baller

In first half, 11 of St. Pats' 30 shots were three pointers. Not really how they are built

Bruins have started out well with their pressure giving Helix issues. St. Pats leads 25-20 with 645 left Q3

St. Pats leads Helix 29-24 with 417 left Q3. Miles Norris just picked up his fourth foul

St. Pats is on a 15-3 run since Norris picked up his 4th foul. Now lead Helix 42-27 with 53 seconds left Q3

Four players with at least 8 points for St. Pats

That impressive 25-7 3rd quarter might have gotten these boys that ring. Just got to protect a 17 points lead for 8 minutes.

St. Pats wins 59-46. Excellent performance by the Bruins. Good game plan and showed off their depth

Well, I only missed on this prediction by 27 points. Huge props to St Pat's!

You can't get them all right kiddman32. Quite a team. Great effort. Very well coached squad.

St. Pats. was the better team by far. Totally out executed and out-coached. It looked like Helix never saw a zone before. Pass the ball around the perimeter, no one moves and keep your 6"9 guy at the high post. no adjustments.

They also won a state title in that other game, too... Ya know, the one where the ball bounces funny and stuff....

I can only think of 1 guy of the top of my head that has a state football and basketball title in the same school year ( Demetrius Williams, former Baltimore Raven) it's easy to remember him cause he played at DLS when they always won the football title and also when they beat Clovis West and Chris Hernandez... Spsv just had 3 kids accomplish that feat... Anyone know of anyone else to pull off this double?

Couple of years ago, Serra-Gardena had a couple players who did it. Forgot the year but the guess is 2011 or around there
