Folsom vs. Nevada Union thread

I was at that first Folsom vs DLS game. Wow. How many pro's were on the field? Yes I said pro's.
Well none so far obviously...if I had to take a guess both Hooper and Browning will be on an NFL team's 53 man roster at some point in their careers. Hutchings seemed like a surefire bet at the time but now finds himself 3rd on the depth chart at USC behind true freshman and GB's own Cam Smith and a RS senior. Unfortunately for Hutchings, he couldn't redshirt with the scholarship reductions so he will have 1 year left after this one. That 2012 DLS defense was nasty. We will see how Tagaloa develops at the next level.
The game Hutchings played that night in 2012 was the best game I've seen from a HS linebacker. Doing things at his size you shouldn't be able to do in HS. Surprised he hasn't had more success thus far.
We tried adding DLS as a friend on Facebook and Instagram and they declined our request
Didn't DLS schedule Del Oro 3 times? Why in hell would they schedule DO 3 times instead of giving Folsom a game last year when Folsom would've been at their best? Remember, Folsom had all seniors last year and they would've had their best chance of defeating DLS last year. Also, Folsom never played DLS with probably their highest recruited lineman ever in Jonah Williams. So all of you foolish DLS homers, Folsom would've been their best ever last season, why wouldn't DLS have wanted to play the best Folsom team? And why the hell schedule DO a third time? That made zero sense!

DLS will play TWO teams in the same league as Folsom, both located within 10-15 miles of Folsom. Makes zero sense.
And don't give me this, "they beat them two years ago!" That was two years ago with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT team. Did DLS win those games? Absolutely. But, why play EVERYONE else besides Folsom in their own league when they are or were at their peak?

My most sincere guess, G61, is an adversion to playing on blue turf.
Oh, and there are only so many games that can be scheduled in a year, and obviously the DLS/DO agreement was more than a one game deal. One must honor agreements.
Of course, if Folsom did not support the elimination of the Open Regional playoff game ... we would have had that great DLS/Folsom game last year ...

The elimination of the Open Regional playoff game was designed to benefit BOTH teams in the case that BOTH were good. It would have benefited DLS in the same way, had roles been reversed one year. People don't realize that.

In the case of last year, it could have very well benefited DLS. In fact, I think it would have. It could have very well been the "DLS rule."
Lol!!! What do you mean MIGHT be good enough to represent Norcal in a bowl game? Since when is DLS not good enough to represent Norcal in a bowl game??? They haven't lost to a Norcal team (including yours) in almost a quarter century. You're really struggling on this, aren't you??
My understanding is that NU's school size has dropped dramatically over the last few years. Also, their longtime coach, Dave Humphers, retired about three years ago, which, by coincidence (?) NU has lost all but 3 or 4 games since.
Their current coach Houlihan has been trying to get NU into a different league for awhile, but they may be stuck in the SFL until the next realignment.
Since I am an NU grad and forever fan, this has been sad for me to witness. It's hard for me to see the once "Mighty Miners" come to this. But they've got six sophomores starting in prominent positions on the varsity this year, so hopefully, along with the Juniors gaining experience, they'll be a bit more competitive the next couple of years.
To G61--Enjoy Folsom's victories. They may continue for years or end before you know it! By the way, NU DID play DLS twice back in the late nineties and lost during the DLS streak. But even then, NU didn't lose quite as bad as Folsom during this DLS non-streak time. And I don't need to be reminded, a loss is a loss--just had to say.
It's funny how crazy someone like RedZone90 goes when DLS could possibly be the SECOND BEST team in Norcal...
If they weren't, then why would they schedule 2 teams in the same league, except for Folsom? What is there to hide?

Playing Granite Bay and Del Oro may look cool. But they are no Folsom.
It's kind of like going to McDonald's and claiming it is In N Out. It doesn't make sense.

Remember, there is a reason why DLS beat Folsom in 2012 and 2013, was selected to represent NorCal in the Open in 2014, and was universally ranked number 1 in the state in 2014 at the end of the season (not counting the G61 homer ranking, of course).
Folsom is a very good program. Nothing but respect. And Folsom was a very good team in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Good enough to be second best in NorCal. Quite an accomplishment. Again, nothing but respect.
And ... their turf is blue. Yes. Blue. Turf.
