Friday Night Scores

I’ve gone against LL all year in picks ems and with Campo all year! Went reverse this week, fvck me I’m an idiot!
I feel your pain. The Campo loss against Acalanes messed me up as well. I would have picked Campo low this week if they hadn't screwed the pooch against Acalanes. I think Macy may have given Burnsed a friendly gift last week. That loss doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Wow.. you gotta think Oak Ridge wishes they had a mulligan for that Rocklin loss. I didn’t think much of DO when I watched them against OR but never count them out. Big win.
DO and Rocklin score comparison against the same opponent was pretty similar. I mean it wasn't like DO was being blown out of games. Factor in DO owns Rocklin in Loomis and you have a grand recipe for a huge upset.

OR really handled DO easily though. They usually match up better but I still say 2 best teams are Folsom and OR in sfl. Nobody has played Folsom better. OR has the talent to play them this year.

I think it was much more Rocklin playing a lack luster game along with a game plan that wasn't working...coming off the bye week that team has lost some steam....

Agreed, but... Sheldon Conde did not play at Oak Ridge, makes a big difference. Also, the OR game was the first time the SO QB for DO got in a game. Again, OR wins that game regardless. But, it would have been a better game.
DO was also short-handed on the OL against OR and are back to full strength now. Other than a couple plays, DO defended OR well. DO gave up 17 points off turnovers to OR, 7 of which was an 86 yard fumble return for a TD when film showed DO was clearly down before the ball came out. That’s a 7 to 10 point swing right there. I know for a fact that DO players are hoping for a playoff rematch against OR and believe they can beat OR.

The DO OR game was closer than the score indicated. OR capitalized with 23 points on 4 untimely DO turnovers, which is part of the game no doubt, but they were turnovers DO typically doesn't give up. That was the difference in the score.

DO was without their stud RB and some other key injuries, including QB (I'm sure OR was missing some kids too but it was factor in their ability to move the ball against a stout OR secondary).

At the end of the day, I still think OR would have won a closer game but based on what I saw OR is not as strong as advertised and on another night I think DO could have beaten them in a 4th quarter last possession type game.

DO struggles on offense, which you saw first hand and was problem last year too even with a group of stud athletes, but last night something clicked. The sophomore QB who is now playing after they lost their starter and their backup who has been beat up every week got hurt again against OR, now has some reps underneath him and is more effective.

I am with you completely, that I hope OR sees a replay with Folsom, I think they can give them a good game and I do agree OR is the second best team I've seen this year in the SFL and I hope they take the Bulldogs down!

Anyone that is interested, the DO games are posted on YouTube by the school broadcasting crew, search for Del Oro News or DO news and you can watch last nights game if you want to watch a good game.

DO still plays D2 right? If so I see them doing very well. They are down a little but still a very good team. Yeah OR could struggle though against Folsom. The stars really aligned that first game. Ngata was brought in the 2nd half after sitting with injury. He is a tad good

No, DO will play D1 playoffs. They were moved up by SJS due to continued success rule because they won Sections 4 times in 6 years.

one thing I will say about Rocklin is they have a lot of talent right now. From the freshman to varsity they have a lot of studs. Their JV squad looked really good Friday night and shut DO out. Freshman squad is really good and their varsity will be very good next year as well.

Glad DO played them coming off the bye but I will also say that the DO team that played last night were as up for a game as any I’ve seen all year.

Watts is a very good QB. He felt a lot of pressure last night and was hit pretty hard on more than one occasion. Handled it well.

The D1 bracket gets deeper with Elk Grove loss last night, which likely could put Inderkum in D1 bracket based on a Sacramento MaxPreps tweet today. Folsom is very talented, however beatable through the playoffs. I know we want a second shot, as well as other teams wanting another shot at us too. We have finished our SFL schedule, closing the regular season with ElK Grove next week (basically a playoff type game). BTW, regarding injuries and personnel, last night was our first game this season with 100% starters playing. It was nice to have all of them healthy to play. The SFL grind will help the teams go deep in the D1 and D2 brackets.

I don’t know if the EG loss bumps Inderkum up. EG will drop to D2 but I believe Cosumnes Oaks will bump up to D1 as a D1 league champ.

These are many of the reason to why DO defeated a very good Rocklin team. And those that paid CLOSE attention to the early downfall of DO knew this was a possible trap game for the Thunder. As tempting as it may have been to pick the Thunder at the 10 spot in Pick'em it was a safe bet to pick them a lot lower. Here's the recipe that caught Rocklin a little by surprise. DO's Injured players returning, Sophomore QB maturing, home cooking and a history of beating little brother. This gave the Golden Eagles a punchers chance in a game that most believed the Thunder should win. Once again, styles make fights. The Junkie

Sacramento MaxPreps suggested Inderkum may go up on their tweet today (I’m not technically sound enough to attach the link here). I understand that CO would go D1 if they win league title. My guess is Inderkum may go up D1 based on enrollment....I’m just not sure.

Las Lomas 42 Acalanes 21 @ LL
Acalanes 17 Campolindo 7 @ Acalanes
Campolindo 31 Las Lomas 14 @ LL

Cosumnes Oaks 7 Franklin 14 @ Cosumnes Oaks
Elk Grove 60 Franklin 13 @ Cosumnes Oaks
Cosumnes Oaks 23 Elk Grove 12 @ the Herds den.

Cosumnes Oaks losing badly to Franklin makes one believe CO may have a key player injured or they lost key players to grades. Grades is usually not the case for Campolindo but in such short time its hard to figure out if a key player was lost to an injury after losing to Acalanes. I gave Elk Grove a higher chance of beating CO in Pick'em then I gave Las Lomas and Rocklin beating their opponents.

This is why I love Friday night Pick'em. On any given Friday.
