These are many of the reason to why DO defeated a very good Rocklin team. And those that paid CLOSE attention to the early downfall of DO knew this was a possible trap game for the Thunder. As tempting as it may have been to pick the Thunder at the 10 spot in Pick'em it was a safe bet to pick them a lot lower. Here's the recipe that caught Rocklin a little by surprise. DO's Injured players returning, Sophomore QB maturing, home cooking and a history of beating little brother. This gave the Golden Eagles a punchers chance in a game that most believed the Thunder should win. Once again, styles make fights. The Junkie
good take...
Picked with my heart this week despite knowing this was a healthy dangerous DO team jacked up for homecoming night. Hats off to the eagles, was really impressed with the young QB pose and stingy defense. These two teams matched up very well and it was a fun game to watch.
I’m sure Rocklin will see on film how a poor offensive showing just won’t cut it in the SFL or playoffs. But, this is SFL and both teams now 6-3, 3-1 in division will face their final league game and prepare for playoffs. Rocklin plays Granite Bay and Del Oro plays Folsom.
My take after watching Rocklin this game;
- Watts played okay but not his usual standard.
- The read option needs some work, perhaps RPO is the RX.
- Significant amount of dropped balls by the receivers
- Lots of motion, not much setup by the eye candy.
- Overall offensive game plan stunk
- Key fumble in the red zone sunk any momentum they had
- Defense played really well, just got burnt (containment) on two long runs.
