1. Mitty (2-0) LW: #1

Mitty beat Christian Brothers 67-29 at the Elite Showcase over the weekend. Haley Jones went for 30 points and 23 rebounds to follow up a 25 point and 15 rebound opener. The Monarchs will face Aptos at the WCAL Challenge at Presentation High School.

2. Pinewood (3-0) LW: #2

The Panthers had a good week with close wins over Cardinal Newman (58-56) and Bishop O’Dowd (56-53). Klara Astrom had led Pinewood in scoring in each of the first three games. She went 10-for-10 from the foul line against the Dragons to lead a 25-for-34 showing. It helped offset a 1-for-15 mark from three point range in the road win. This week, Pinewood travels to the Iolani Classic.

3. Salesian (3-0) LW: #3

Angel Jackson has been the leading scorer in each of the first three games with two double-doubles. With wins over Bethel, St. Joseph and St. Patrick-St. Vincent, Salesian will play Carondelet on Tuesday and St. Ignatius on Saturday.

4. Miramonte (6-1) LW: #4

With wins over Clovis North (75-71) and Presentation (56-30), Miramonte has won four in a row and shown its depth. Erin Tarasow made seven threes in the win over Clovis North, Mia Mastrov has been the top all-around player and Amerika De Los Santos continues to be a solid scoring threat.

5. St. Joseph (4-1) LW: #5

After taking a hard 52-28 loss to Salesian, St. Joseph came back at the Elite Showcase to beat Sacred Heart Cathedral (43-29). In both games last week, Malia Mastora, Ariana Webb and Andrea Rogers were the top three scorers. The Pilots play San Domenico this week.

6. St. Mary’s-Stockton (2-0) LW: #6

Tied at 24 at the half, St. Mary’s controlled the second half to beat Bradshaw Christian 79-45. Over the weekend at the Elite Showcase, the Rams beat Eastside Prep 61-56 in overtime. In both games, St. Mary’s had strong first quarters before losing their advantage in the second. They play Pitman, California, Wilsonville-Oregon and St. Mary’s-Berkeley this week.

7. Sacramento (4-0) LW: #7

The Dragons swept a four game week including the Harlan Carter title in Redding. RyAnne Walters, who was tournament MVP, and Andrianna Avent combined to score 34 points in a semi-final win over Placer. Sacramento beat Enterprise (73-41) in the finals and Lincoln-Stockton (53-44) to begin the week. Sacramento will play Oak Ridge on Friday.

8. Carondelet (1-0) LW: #8

In its season opener, Carondelet beat Bear Creek 55-36 with Ali Bamberger and Tatyana Modawar combining for 29 points. Expect the Cougars to try to control the inside play this season with a pair of Division I signees. Carondelet will play Salesian on Tuesday before playing at the Miramonte Tip-Off Classic.

9. Sacred Heart Cathedral (2-2) LW: #10

After a runner-up finish at the Cardinal Newman Classic, Sacred Heart Cathedral took a surprising 43-29 loss to St. Joseph with only Dylan Benitez in double figures. The Fightin’ Irish will be back in action on December 15 against Heritage.

10. Heritage (3-1) LW: #12

Playing just one game last week, Heritage got off to a good start before losing to Clovis North (59-49). Abigail Muse and Jordan Sweeney accounted for 30 of the 49 Patriot points. Heritage will play Dublin on Tuesday and Sacred Heart Cathedral on Saturday.

11. Folsom (6-0) LW: #13

Folsom added its second tournament title of the season with sophomore guard Charity Gallegos earning back-to-back MVP awards. The Bulldogs haven’t allowed more than 47 points in a game this year heading into an off week.

12. Bear Creek (5-1) LW: #15

Bear Creek played the rare basketball doubleheader in beating Antelope (65-56) in the tournament finals at Rocklin High School before traveling to the Bay Area and losing to Carondelet (55-36). Sophomore Mya Blake is averaging 19 points with a season high 31 against Reno. Bear Creek plays Amador Valley on Saturday.

13. Antelope (9-1) LW: #9

Playing without senior post Arianna Spann, Antelope had its nine game winning streak snapped in a 65-56 loss to Bear Creek in a rematch of the SJS Division II finals. Jzaniya Harriel scored at least 23 points in five straight games before the Bear Creek loss. Jordan Goodwin is averaging 16 points in the past four games.

14. McClatchy (4-2) LW: #14

The Lions split two games last week with a 55-46 win over Franklin-Elk Grove before falling to Clovis West 38-37 at the Elite Showcase. McClatchy’s two losses have come by a combined three points.

15. St. Francis, Mountain View (5-0) LW: #16

Paige Uyehara and Mia Grizelj combined to average 35 points in wins last weeks over South San Francisco and Marin Catholic. On the schedule this week is Seaside, Aragon and Woodside Priory.

16. Cardinal Newman (4-3) LW: #11

Cardinal Newman dropped a pair of games last week against Pinewood (58-56) and Dublin (66-56). In the loss to Pinewood, Avery Cargill and Anya Choice combined for 41 points as they have carried the scoring weight through seven games. The Cardinals play Casa Grande and Davis this week.

17. Oakland (6-1) LW: #17

Oakland went 2-1 on its trip to Oregon, but holds its position due to the win over Bishop O’Dowd. Two of the three games this past week were decided by four or less points. The Wildcats play Logan and Cosumnes Oaks this week.

18. Bishop O’Dowd (1-4) LW: #18

The Dragons suffered their third straight loss in losing to Pinewood (56-53) at home on Saturday. Jada Holland had 19 points in the loss and the Dragons held Pinewood to a season low in three pointers made. Bishop O’Dowd is off this week.

19. St. Ignatius (6-1) LW: #19

The Wildcats took their first loss of the year at Roseville High School in losing to undefeated Folsom (45-31). Maddie Ennis had 22 points against Pleasant Valley and earned all-tournament honors for the second straight weekend. St. Ignatius will play Salesian on Saturday.

20. Oak Ridge (6-2) LW: #20

Oak Ridge won the Trojan Clash at Lincoln-Stockton in beating the hosts 53-50 on Saturday. It also beat Manteca and Tracy heading into Friday’s game against Sacramento. Teagan Brown was named tournament MVP. Lauren Helwig was named all-tournament for the second straight week.
