1. Mitty (3-0) LW: #1

Three games in and Mitty hasn’t been challenged with the latest being an 89-31 win over Aptos. Mitty led 31-2 after the first quarter. Haley Jones and Ania MacNicholas combined for 55 points. The Monarchs travel to the Nike TOC this week.

2. Pinewood (6-0) LW: #2

The Panthers traveled to Hawaii and won the Iolani Classic in beating Incarnate Word Academy 63-49 in the finals. They were paced by tournament MVP Hannah Jump, who made 11 threes en route to 37 points in the finals.

3. Carondelet (5-0) LW: #8

With wins over Salesian (50-48) and Miramonte (70-66) as part of a four win week, Carondelet jumps five spots. Ali Bamberger leads a strong frontline for the Cougars, which also has gotten good guard play from Erica Miller (game winning shot against Salesian). The Cougars are headed to the Nike TOC.

4. Salesian (4-1) LW: #3

The Pride lost on a buzzer beater to Carondelet (50-48), but came back to beat St. Ignatius (56-41). Salesian led Carondelet 30-23 at halftime. Angel Jackson is averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds and the Pride have made 18 threes through five games heading into the Nike TOC.

5. Miramonte (8-2) LW: #4

Mia Mastrov and Erin Tarasow combined for 32 points in a 70-66 loss to Carondelet at the John Peyo Mats Tip Off Classic. The loss snapped a six game winning streak for the Matadors, which play in the Steve Geramoni Invitational at Notre Dame-Belmont.

6. St. Joseph (6-1) LW: #5

The Pilots beat San Domenico 76-39 paced by 17 points from Andrea Rogers and 13 from Malia Mastora. That duo is averaging 24 points and 12 rebounds per contest. Next up is Terra Linda and St. Mary’s-Berkeley.

7. St. Mary’s, Stockton (5-0) LW: #6

Injuries have plagued the Rams, which are without senior guard Nicole Young and welcomed senior Jada Moss back this past weekend. Anna Blount had a double-double in a 68-48 win over St. Mary’s-Berkeley. Earlier in the week, St. Mary’s trailed Pitman 27-22 at halftime before winning 71-40. They led California 36-31 at half before posting a 36 point win.

8. Sacramento (5-0) LW: #7

The Dragons jumped out to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter en route to a 67-34 win over Oak Ridge in a matchup featuring two of the top programs in the Sacramento area. Sacramento will be at the Nike TOC this week.

9. Heritage (5-1) LW: #10

For the second time this year, Heritage beat Dublin and held the Gaels to less than 45 points in each contest. Heritage also beat Sacred Heart Cathedral (76-64) heading into Saturday’s tilt with Cardinal Newman.

10. Sacred Heart Cathedral (2-3) LW: #9

After opening wins against Eastside Prep and Cardinal Newman, Sacred Heart Cathedral has lost three in a row and given up more than 70 points twice. On Saturday, it lost to Heritage (78-64) at the Presentation Shootout. The Fightin’ Irish will be at the Nike TOC this week.

11. Folsom (6-0) LW: #11

The Bulldogs were off last week as they now prepare for their third preseason tournament. They will be at the Trojan Toss-Up at Oak Ridge High School and open against Inderkum on Thursday.

12. Bear Creek (6-1) LW: #12

Mya Blake had 31 points in an 80-41 win over Amador Valley. Bear Creek led 42-21 at halftime. The Bruins will be at the Kimball Tournament this week before heading to Las Vegas at the end of the month.

13. Antelope (9-1) LW: #13

Following a loss to Bear Creek at the Rocklin tournament, the Titans were off last week. They return to the court on Tuesday against Yuba City and Wednesday against Roseville.

14. McClatchy (7-2) LW: #14

The Lions are giving up 32 points per game after wins over Inderkum (77-34), Grant (84-11) and Lincoln-Stockton (47-31). They will face Burbank this week and end the month in San Diego. Their two losses to Folsom and Clovis West have been by a combined three points.

15. St. Francis, Mountain View (8-0) LW: #15

Over the weekend, the Lancers posted their best win of the year over Woodside Priory (46-30). St. Mary’s bound Mia Grizelj is averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds and Paige Uyehara is averaging a team best 16 points with nearly a third of the team’s made three pointers. St. Francis plays Leland and Pinewood this week.

16. Cardinal Newman (6-3) LW #16

Cardinal Newman beat Casa Grande (71-35) and Davis (57-46) after falling to Dublin on December 8. The Cardinals, led by their guard play, will play Santa Rosa on December 19 and Heritage on December 22.

17. Bishop O’Dowd (1-4) LW: #18

The Dragons have lost three straight to Regis Jesuit-Colorado, Cardinal Newman and Pinewood, but have received strong play from freshman Amaya Bonner. They are at the Nike TOC this week.

18. St. Ignatius (6-2) LW: #19

The combination of Rachel Harvey and Maddie Ennis paced St. Ignatius in a 56-41 loss to Salesian. The duo combined for 33 points as the Wildcats trailed 28-22 at halftime. St. Ignatius is off this week.

19. San Ramon Valley (8-0) LW: NR

The Wolves join the rankings off an undefeated start and heading to the Kimball tournament this week. Last week, they beat Piedmont (70-60) and American (63-56). Paige Gerhart had 18 points in the win over American.

20. Oak Ridge (6-3) LW: #20

Following a 67-34 loss to Sacramento, the Trojans are giving up 73 points per game in losses with an average margin of defeat of 29 points. The other losses have come to Clovis West and Clovis North. Oak Ridge hosts its Trojan Toss-Up this week.
