Think about was it a comeback or was that somebody don't want go to the open. McClatchy is an Open caliber team. I guess it's like AAU have a good team and want to play lower level to win a Championship. That's just a taught but might not be the case!!!!

It turned out to be too close of a game to be a pint shaving tank job. If Mc Clatchy loses they would get a lower seed even in D1. The reason OR made come back is that MC went cold and OR started knocking down 3's. OR also managed to avoid the turn overs that got them out of the game in the first half. At the end they were with in 3 points with over a min to go. I don't know why the OR coach decided to press full court which resulted in MC getting an easy basket which then forced them to foul the rest of the way.

Would the committee really look at the margin of victory that closely? I agree with Willtalk, don't think they were tanking. The girls on the actual court just want to win and aren't thinking we should let Oak Ridge come back so we don't have to go into Open division. McClatchy's pressure defense was the difference again in this playoff game, but they didn't do a good job of finishing around the basket in transition and way too many stupid fouls and unforced turnovers. They were lucky that Oak Ridge missed so many free throws, at least 12-14!

The question did McClatchy press the whole game or did the let up on the press??? That makes a big difference in the game????

No they continued to press. Oak Ridge finally handled it better, no turnovers and good ball movement, and then finally started knocked down some open 3s. McClatchy went cold as well. Basically it was a tale of two halves. 1st half was McClatchy pace, 2nd half was Oak Ridge pace. When Oak Ridge was able to slow the game down, play tough half court defense with no layups allowed, and then get it inside to their big girls 6'5" and 6'3", the game totally changed and Oak Ridge went on huge run.
