Silva coached at Alhambra prior to Granada and they had some decent teams at the time. He also is a Palma school and coaching alumni. Palma was pretty good when they played Alhambra and it wasn't close. Surprised they never had a game with Granada with the coaching connection. He's a pretty good coach.

What do you think of the hire?

I think this is a good hire. This team has most of it starters coming back and a undefeated JV team coming up. Great potential to be something special. If he can install the discipline the program was lacking under the old regime, this team could challenge the big 4 in the Gabilan in 2 years.. Besaw spent time at both Palma and Salinas, 2 of the better run programs in the area, if he can bring that same type of leadership over to Monterey, he will have the athletes to compete.
