Does your varsity team have more players or fewer players than last year? Does your JV team have more players or fewer players than last year?

Carmel High has about the same number of varsity players as last year. Their JV team has fewer players. And the local youth football team folded for lack of players.

How about your school? Is there a trend toward less participation?

Upward for us. Downward in many other places.

I think it is pretty obvious that the trend is less participation- due to the concussion hysteria ( whether founded or not ) and way to many " one sport athletes".

Well if the participation numbers in Texas are down, that’s a pretty good barometer for the national trend.

Jr Tigers seem to have a great turnout too.

Every sport not named Baseball has had lower participation numbers over the last couple of years.
