NCS open-division 3 seedings

With just a few exceptions, NCS isn't going to jump all these teams up 1 or 2 divisions. Absolutely not going to happen. Teams will stay in their division
Yes the NCS will jump teams up. The NCS will go by the Max Preps rankings. Its the new seeding process that was put into place this season.

Teams can only be moved up TWO levels max...unless they are chosen for the OPEN.
So a D3 can be moved up to D1 while a D4 can only go as high as D2.

While there will be a few teams who move up I don't see there being a drastic number of teams moving up or down I don't see whoever the committee is just watering down the lower divisions.

Again....for those in the back..

The committee is going by Max Preps rankings.

1-6 in the NCS rankings. Open
7-22 in the rankings D1...
23- 38...D2

Etc etc etc...

IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT DIVISION YOU ARE IN...

The only caveat..u will only be moved up 2 levels max...unless you get chosen for the Open.

If u are a D4 team and u fall ANYWHERE between 23-38 in the MP rankings you will be placed in D2. Period...thats how it's now working.

The schools voted this system down in the meetings.

The commission and the Board of Govenors? (I think that's the name) said screw it we are doing it anyhow. Ignoring the vote and the will of the schools.

So is the converse true? A D1 team with a losing record but still ranked high enough to be D3 makes the D3 playoffs? does a team even need a winning record to qualify?

Moreau easily beats wash fremont
Montgomery beats Maria c
Terra Linda beats Novato

Ranch cotate blast Elsie
Freedom over Pitt
Alhambra beats Antioch
Dublin beats Livermore

We are moving Moreau above Dougherty. Not saying they are better. We are saying they have a good opportunity to hold this spot. They will play Redwood on 1/20. in meantime of that Dougherty runs into de La Salle on 1/17. Another potential loss ! At the end and healthy. Dougherty is a open bracket team.

Why would you move Moreau over Dougherty when DV won head to head and was missing Stokes?

It is a move that is worth your questioning .

We do believe Dougherty is the stronger team. Currently max preps has mc ranked 6th and Dougherty 8th. Dougherty took a loss on Friday. Albeit to a very strong team. It should move them back couple spots. Dougherty plays de la on Tuesday. We expect another loss . Pushing them back even further. Let’s speculate by next Thursday they are ranked 11th in NCS. Meanwhile Moreau gets credit for a win over Washington and another come Tuesday.

MC plays Redwood on the 20th. That is 10 days from when we made the move. The likelyhood of the rankings changing for the improvement of Dougherty are extremely low. if DV wins Tuesday vs de La . This theory goes out the window! Fair or unfair - for now they must step up by pulling off a big win .
