Clock is running. Tech up by 80-69 and at the free throw line. Congrats to Oakland Tech and avenging 2 losses earlier this season to St. Mary’s. Final 82-71. Oakland Tech will play for the D1 state championship. SM Jordan Lee finished with 47 points. Sad, the other Lady Rams weren’t able to step up and supplement Lee’s performance. Good luck Oakland Tech Bulldogs!

Interesting note for this week. The D4 game (San Domenico and Shalhevet) is a rematch of the D5 title game last year won by San Domenico.

Tech has some solid players but I didn't see that game so I don't know what happened. But it does seems more often than not, that at the high school level players get more of the blame for failures than coaches. I've even heard stories of different high school coaches literally blaming players for losing. I bet there are some college coaches out there that wish they got the same benefit of the doubt. im just saying.

well, ultimately it is the players. they are the ones playing and gotta score and guard.

Very true. And what's also true is you gotta put the players in position. Not saying that is the case here. It's safe to say it's a collaborative effort where both coaches and players should be held accountable. I was just replying to the comment the person made about the other players not supplementing a monstrous 40 pt effort by Lee. But I didn't see the game so I don't know how or what happened and why. I guess it's always easier to feel the players didn't hold their own.

My gosh!! Is the Mitty vs Salesian game really an open division playoffs game final score? That's a 40 burger in the open division.
That final score nicely sums up the state of NorCal girls' hoops. It's Mitty and then everyone else. The Mighty Monarchs have vacuumed up most of the outstanding players in the Central Coast Section. It's an ongoing fact of life. Maybe they should change their nickname to "Hoovers" or "Electroluxes."
