As reported by Max Preps it is business as usual for the North Section. They are practicing preparing and proceeding to break away from the other sections and playing fall sports in the fall. Obviously there will not be any out of section games for the Northern section and they are waiving their inclusion into the State playoff system. And it did not take Liz Kyle, the Northern Section Commissioner, to long to announce this either. Pretty much right away after the CIF guidelines were released. Local health officials are the only ones that can derail this. Other things will also still make this a very unusual situation. The biggest being whether fans will be allowed to watch and I also wonder what transportation will look like as well. I know first hand that players are like sardines in busses while on the road. Gonna be interesting!!

Any truth to the rumor that St. Johns Bosco, Mater Dei and De La Salle are setting up satellite campuses in Alturas? :);)

They could get get 2 football seasons in with the CIF transfer rules!.

In all seriousness I am not sure if this is a good idea. I understand case loads are way different up North and I really want to see some high school sports return (especially football!!), I just think the potential risk is not worth the benefit. I think they should follow the state guidelines on this.

With Butte county expected to go on the state watchlist as early as Wed, as well as the 5 counties already on the list, that makes about 20 schools in the Northern Section that will probably not get local county health approval to play this Fall.
