It may not have much bearing on future CCS playoff seeding, but you never know. Friday night's non-league game between visiting Lynbrook of San Jose and Burlingame provided a good example of the need for attention to administrative detail by folks handling the scorebooks. The game was close. In the second half, a Lynbrook player entered the contest but his jersey number was not listed in the Burlingame home book. His name was there but the number was different. A technical foul was assessed. A Burlingame player converted one of two free throws; the ensuing home team's possession ended with a turnover. So the Panthers netted a one-digit benefit from the infraction. The final score: Burlingame 39, Lynbrook 38. Little things mean a lot. Lesson learned.
