Well I have been following the RB Skatetbo from RL and I must say the kid is the real deal.
His opening burst for a 90 yarder was one of the most impressive runs I have ever seen.
If someone has it on film please post it......He has to be close to the section record of 3400...The Spartans from Socal never knew what hit them. Completely frustrated with the inability to stop #5. Just when they thought they had RL figured out, RL went to the bevy of backs in it's stable.....I was impressed with the program......Very happy for a community that is usually the butt end of some joke....

The game is on NFHS via demand, but it appears that the broadcast was interrupted literally just before that play took place.

As for his yardage totals, JoeD reported the following:

Skattebo became the Sac-Joaquin Section’s all-time leader in single-season rushing with 3,553 yards. That eclipsed the record of 3,458 yards set by John Bordenkircher of Dixon in 1997.

Tremendous accomplishment, no doubt, but to be fair to Bordenkircher and Onterrio Smith, their rushing totals occurred in less games.

Bordenkircher rushed for 3,458 in 12 games.
Smith rushed for 3,125 in 12 games.
Skattebo rushed for 3,553 in 15 games.

Dixon was D3 back in 1997. Grant Union was D1 in 1998. Rio Linda is D4 this year. Just something to consider when comparing all these things.

Regardless, Skattebo accomplished this as a freaking Junior. It'll be interesting to see what he can do next season.

According to several sources of info I found, he's #4 on the all-time single season list in CA. Only those over 3K yards are listed:

  2. 3,732 - Tre Watson, Centennial, 2013 (15)

Skattebo is a monster...also broke the SJS record for rushing yards in a season.

Thanks for posting.

Seeing that run bring back memories of Onterrio Smith and Lance Briggs with all the broken tackles. Or even 'Beast Mode' Marshawn Lynch. Incredible run.

When I saw him against Casa Roble in the Section Championship game, I was a little underwhelmed. I mean, he scored 7 TD's in the game. But I was lulled to sleep with how easy and nonchalant it all seemed. Some of the runs were so effortless it just seemed like CR was offering up little-to-no resistance. But in fact, the kid is so good he just makes it look that easy.

He's got what I believe to be the most important skill an elite RB has --- exceptional balance. Strength plays a factor too, but the balance is largely what allows him to make plays like this one. He's got tremendous vision and anticipation as well. He had a long run called back this weekend where he made an exceptional cutback on the defender while near top speed.

Kid is legit.
