#1 - Capital Christian (8-2)
#2 - Placer (8-2)
#3 - Buhach Colony (10-0)
#4 - Manteca (8-2)

#12 River Valley (4-6) @ #5 Vista del Lago (8-2)
#11 Johnson (8-2) @ #6 Roseville (6-4)
#10 Yuba City (6-4) @ #7 Christian Brothers (7-3)
#9 Antelope (5-5) @ #8 Ponderosa (5-5)

Disclaimer: im from yuba city and i am a YC homer. That said, i feel like YC gets totally hosed year in and year out in the playoff seedings. They just beat Roseville 48-20 and get seeded 4 spots lower?

Ponderosa at 5-5 with weaker schedule gets a home game?i saw projections with yc landing 5,6 and 7....but never 8,9 ormuch less 10.

Anyhow...was looking forward to a home game. It will be fun football. I have never been to a game at CB.

The 3 way beat downs between YC, Roseville and Antelope made for tough seeding. Calpreps had YC with 2 bad losses and that may have hurt them when looking at the 3 teams. Also inderkum played those three teams the last three weeks and Roseville played them the closest. But who knows. Also CB plays at Sac City college fyi

Imo, Yuba has the most individual talent of the three. Their D is loaded with size and speed. Unreal the size and speed of their Defense.

Yeah I'm sure it was tough to seed with those three....oh well. strap it up and here we go!

Prediction: I see this bracket following the seed line. First round possible upset: Antelope over VDL. Second Round: not sold on undefeated Buhach. They run the ball and the game will be close. Placer will take care of CB. Cap Christian has easy run to finals. I see a rematch of Cap Christian and Placer in finals. Athletes vs Discipline. I take the athletes. Cap Christian is your section champion.

What about Manteca? You don’t think Manteca will be a factor in the playoffs? They beat Oakdale and only lost to Central Catholic by 1 point!

Manteca has a tough draw. Cap Christian will take them out in semis. Cap Christian is super fast. They have 2 RBs with 4.5 speed. They also destroyed Cosumnes Oaks {#2 D2}, VDL {#5 D3), and Christian Brothers {#7 D3}

Antelope upsets Capital
RV beats VDL loses to Manteca
Yuba beats CB and Placer, they're huge and physical
Roseville beats BC in second round and plays for the section vs. Manteca

This division did have some upsets last year before 1-2 seeds met in the final. I think Manteca will give Capital all they can handle in the semi’s should they meet and wouldn’t be surprised to see them pull the upset.

Capital is very tough on the defensive side of the ball. They are big up front and stuff the run. They also have a very opportunistic secondary who take advantage of teams that are forced to pass and force turnovers.

Offensively they have struggled at times to put together drives and tend to rely on the skill guys to bust a big play and they have quite a few guy that can do that. Vista Del Lago was able to contain the Capital running game by being faster at the line of scrimmage and beating the big CC lineman to spots.

I really hope to see a rematch of CC and Placer in the final though. I don’t think either of the teams are as good as they were last year but the contrasting styles makes for an interesting game

Buhach is solid defensively.. probably one of their best defensive units. Offense has struggled 2 out of the past 4 weeks vs Atwater and Merced in league. The defense plays the run really well. Coach Cat is a great coach but if Roseville travels to Atwater I don't think an upset is in order. In my opinion. I'm looking forward to a possible Buhach vs Placer match-up in Auburn. I lived in Auburn in 1990-91 and would love to make the trip. But first things first.. Buhach vs Roseville / Johnson. Playoff season is here! Ya gotta love it. Good luck to all.

I would like to attend Yuba City @ CBS but I hear it’s not at the HS.....where are they playing, please?

No problem. Expect a full scouting report on the Hillmen’s next opponent :)
Went to game,YC won obviously as I left after 3rd qtr and the honkers scored AGAIN on a qb keeper this time breaking tackles from about 40 yds out.CBS up 13-7 in 1st qtr and then the wheels came off, wow, giving up 4th and down town LA (4th and 30 I believe) to the 2 yd line on a qb scramble pass from the 45.Another time same thing,td on 4th and 17 from 45 yd line...they botched a pooch kick by YC right after that td that YC recovered,a couple plays and broken tackles later td again....CBS was not prepared for this game. The jr qb for CBS is very good, athletic, tall, good pocket presence, see’s the entire field, throws a GREAT ball with quick release, put this kid #3 under center at Folsom(just saying)and the bulldogs don’t miss a beat....the kid is very good, imho!CBS did more damage to themselves tonight than the honkers did to them.CBS play calling at critical times left many CBS supporters obviously scratching their heads and at times yelling in frustration,I sat on the CBS side by chance, wasn’t by choice,I just happened to enter that side at Hughes Stadium and I had no dog in this race.Interacted with falcon supporters and felt their frustration, good people but they like me realized CBS tonight was not prepared. As for YC,QB has good speed, throws a good tight ball on the run, scrambles well and does well breaking tackles, the 2 YC rb’s are good, strong hard runners that carry people a few extra yds, good speed in open field. The D-line looks solid as CBS couldn’t do much with them all 3 qtrs I was there,a couple pops for 8-10 yds that was it,most came by way of cbs QB,some tight completed throws. One perfectly thrown 45- 50 yd td pass in 1st qtr and a couple running td’s set up mostly by short completed passes.Overall YC good on Offense good blend of run and pass,YC will harm you if you allow #22 to by some time, either with his legs but mostly pass, the YC Defense good as well especially up front with D linemen,lb’s look good and athletic.I expect the Hillmen to do much better Defensively against YC,and I think Placer’s Offense will run much better against YC than did CBS by far,it will be a good game, two good teams....I don’t believe YC will see next week in Placer what they went up against tonight in CBS.....it’s going to be a dogfight, imho!

I was at this game as well. I agree that CB was ill prepared. Looked to me that they were emotionless. YC was much more physical. I thought CB quit after late 2nd quarter miscues. Where I disagree is analysis of CB QB. He is very tall and athletic. But, I don't think I saw very many tight passes. Ball looked very difficult to catch. Doesn't see the field very well. He stares down receivers almost always targeting #10. Rarely did he look to the left side of field. YC overplayed right side. Missed countless receivers on left side.

I think that game came down mostly to the matchup at the LOS, as most games do. YC won that battle on nearly every down from the get go. That combined with the physicality led to the turnovers. This was still at least two or three score game even without the turnovers.
YC should have had a home game and i think the section and calpreps way underrated the CVC this year.

I thought the kid looked good, and looked comfortable in the pocket didn’t get rattled it appeared. He made one pass I thought he may like to have back and that was the int,i don’t know what he saw on that one but hey he’s human, lol.I think he has an enormous upside and maybe the staff can better prepare next time for such a game and position themselves as well as the qb to succeed.....they were definitely not ready for that game and a lot of that credit does go to YC.I spoke with several parents, supporters for CBS and all are excited for this CBS team for next yr as many including the qb are jr’s...but agreed with frustration they were ill prepared.I for one wish this young man at qb for CBS the very best,I believe he will stand out next yr as a Sr and hopefully the coaching staff learns from this loss.Congrats to YC,as they were the better team....no doubt! Will be interesting in Auburn next Friday nite,I don’t believe Placer will be I’ll prepared....I think YC knows that as well!Best of luck to CBS in the next season.

#4 - Vista Del Lago over Manteca (8-2)

I don’t see Vista coming out on top in this one. Not that it can’t happen, but I would be surprised. Manteca beat Oakdale by more than 2 td’s, lost to Central Catholic by 1 point. In my opinion, Manteca is being under estimated in this D3 bracket. Manteca over Vista by 2 TD’s

Very much agree on Manteca. And Vista is coming off a close call to River Valley

I think Manteca should have been a top 4 seed. Vista has a great program led by a coach that I have alot of respect for. Looking back at the 2 schedules, hard to say Manteca should not be the better seed. Vista n Manteca should be a good game, very tough to seed playoffs

I agree that Manteca has been under estimated by this bracket selection committee. That said, I'm hoping Vista can cause them some serious problems offensively. We shall see...

Manteca is the 4 seed. They had a bye last week while VDL played River Valley

This is a strong D3 bracket, but it looks like a Capital-Placer rematch in the finals.

The "upset" I see is Roseville beating Buhach Colony to reach the semi-finals

I don't understand how folks expected a Roseville upset over Buhach. BC is athletic and has some nice team speed. I don't think Roseville was ready for or even expected the speed nor the physicality.
It seemed Roseville didn't have one of it's top RB's ... but not sure. The Tigers scored their 1st score one fake punt trailing 13-0... and then scored again trailing 32-7... up 38-14...with about 330 left... starters came out..

Where you at? Been quiet this week... I thought we would get more D-lll discussion... ‍♂️
I’m here,I look and see what’s on the threads and mostly D1 or D2,would like to see some D3 talk but it appears it’s been pretty quiet...I agree.A couple big games in D3 with Manteca vs CC and Buhoch Colony vs Placer....both games appear to be dogfights,I believe!I will be at Placer vs Buhoch Colony as I believe you will also, correct?I sit directly behind ticket booth Placer side where press box is located,3rd row down on the end right there near the stairs,3 nice BLUE chairs....you can’t miss us!Please stop by and say hello to the “Champ”,I would enjoy meeting you,if possible.Go Placer
