Sac-Joaquin D3 Football Playoff Bracket

It’s hard to predict these matchups but I will take a shot.

No common opponents for Placer and Buhach. The teams of the CCC haven’t fared very well in the playoffs the last few years when matched up with teams from the Northern part of the section, but Buhach does have an early season win over Edison who gave Folsom all they could handle last week. They also got blown out last year in the playoffs 55-0 by Capital. Have they improved that much?

Placer won a very competitive league and fared pretty well in a tough non league schedule, nearly pulling off a win versus a very good Cardinal Newman team. Not sure how many teams Buhach has seen that runs the Wing T with the precision that Placer does. But for some reason my gut tells me Placer wins this one by 2+ touchdowns.

Capital and Manteca have a common opponent in Vista Del Lago, who Capital beat in a defensive battle 21-7 while Manteca beat them in a shootout 39-35. Manteca offense has averaged almost 60 points a game the last 6 weeks while Capital defense is giving up less than 9 over that same stretch. Classic high flying offense vs clamping defense battle and something has to give. They say defense wins championships and I think Capital can score just enough to win 26-21.

I’m here,I look and see what’s on the threads and mostly D1 or D2,would like to see some D3 talk but it appears it’s been pretty quiet...I agree.A couple big games in D3 with Manteca vs CC and Buhoch Colony vs Placer....both games appear to be dogfights,I believe!I will be at Placer vs Buhoch Colony as I believe you will also, correct?I sit directly behind ticket booth Placer side where press box is located,3rd row down on the end right there near the stairs,3 nice BLUE chairs....you can’t miss us!Please stop by and say hello to the “Champ”,I would enjoy meeting you,if possible.Go Placer

Just barely seeing this ... I'm on the field during the games... man sucks that Buhach lost this nail biter. The 2 missed PAT attempts cost us. But the pivotal play of the game was BC leading 14-13.. and fumbling the ball at their own 24 with a little over 6 minutes left. We were moving the ball well at that point. It was a classic though. Would've been great to see the kids get the win and the much deserved respect. Congrats to Placer

Failed PATs cost BC ...but yeah night and day difference from past year for sure. I thought BC did a great job of defending Placer's vaunted Wing-T. Offensively it seemed BC was a little erratic in the 1st 3 qtrs..with the exception of the 96 yd td run.. they got in more of a rhythm in the 4th.. I definitely would have run Paster more. Placer had no answer for him for the most part.. but again.. it was an instant classic .. one that slipped away from BC.. congrats Placer

BC missed out on the 2nd td as Placer stopped that 2 pt conversion early 4th qtr ( i believe)and then missed the game tying extra point late 4th,Placer also missed an xtra pt as it was blocked on their 2nd score...xtra pts played a big role this evening for both teams!I felt both teams moved the chains throughout game, ate up some clock and stalled later down field having to punt. Each team coughed up the ball ONCE at bad times,Placer fumbled about 30 yds out and leading 13-8 in 3rd qtr,and BC coughed up the rock after a Placer punt on their 40 or so and leading 14-13 mid 4th(I believe) with which Placer converted to a td and also converted their 2 pt try to take a 21-14 lead. But BC came back as #21was able to break free on the wide runs and used his speed, very good player.A friend and I wondered same thing why didn’t BC use him more.BC burned up all 3 timeouts with about 2 1/2 mins left in the game but Placer like BC were able to move ball for 4-5 yds most of night..but that last Placer possession were able to convert and move the chains as both teams did pretty much most of night....and the clock then became the thunders enemy as they were unable to stop it and Placer took a couple off knee’s.Bravo to BOTH teams on a hard, well played game!
Congrats to BC on a fabulous yr,coming into Auburn with a perfect 11-0 record and suffering only loss, fabulous yr indeed....bravo!Congratulations to Placer on moving on to the SJS D3 Championship.Again a very good hard fought game by 2 well matched teams...congrats to both!
P.S...Thunderous,I looked forward to meeting you,you were obviously at LeFevre what side were you on?

Totally agree as both teams fumbled at bad times,Placer coughing it up after driving down field at Buhoch 25 or 30 and going in was painful, equally painfully to Buhoch was them coughing it up on their own 30 or so,painful fumbles for both teams....huge congratulations to Buhoch on a TREMENDOUS yr,11-1 is no easy chore and we lost last yr going in 12-0.This time of yr the records even as stellar as they are coming in are vulnerable as EVERYONE comes to play, very close games in all Divs throughout so far,a couple lopsided one’s but not much.#1 Cap Christian lost to #4 Manteca and these are very good teams,as Placer and Buhoch are.Div 1 #1 Folsom lost last night....in the playoffs teams come to play and rise up....which makes the playoffs so much fun and exciting!PS,as for the RESPECT,Buhoch Colony does NOT have to be concerned about that one single bit.....much RESPECT for the Thunder from Placer...much respect indeed!Congrats my friend, the Colony is a fabulous team and a fabulous program...BRAVO!

It was a great game--great atmosphere. Fantastic to have the BC band there too! Both teams fought so hard from beginning to end. Placer and BC players were hugging each other after the game ended. So nice to see such good sportsmanship. Tons of respect for BC.

Hillman are going to have their biggest test of the year next week. My money is on the Hillman. Montoya gets the most out of his guys in games like this. Go Hillman!!

Thanks Smash, but the last 2 weeks haven’t quite been cakewalks for the Hillmen vs the likes of a very good and under seeded Yuba City and last night vs an as good and undefeated 11-0 Buhoch Colony...but you are correct in that next week the chewers take on a very good team in the Manteca Buffaloes.....it will be a big test indeed, totally agree! Thanks again!

I agree.. awesome atmosphere and yes the BC Band showing up and adding a great element to the game... it's a shame someone had to lose.. I did feel like BC had momentum.. going up 14-13... forcing Placer to punt on the ensuing drive with under 7 mins left.. they were moving the ball well .. but that dreaded fumble halted it ... mistakes are part of the game.. and yes there was mutual respect from the players and coaches...kudos to the Hillmen again.. good luck next week. ..

Champ .. I was on the field...
