Irish BEAT SI 21-20. St. Ignatius attempted a 43-yard FG with :44 left in the game on a 4th down with no time outs. Earlier, SI had a bad snap prevent a PAT.
Great win for the Irish!

I didn't expect that win but I should have... SHC has been challenging opponents in most games only to lose footing in the second half. Good for them!!

Another case of TMA: Too Many Athletes. The only question has been: Can these guys be organized and prepared to put them in a position to actually win games? It finally happened Friday night at Kezar. Excellent work. Close losses to SHP, Palma and Burlingame were a hint of what might be. Can the Irish beat Riordan and Mitty? Let's see. Bellarmine, VC and Serra appear to be beyond reach at this point. But, hey, who knows?

Palma roasted Mitty 47-0, so I think the Irish have a good chance to win that one. They were one play away from beating Valley Christian. SHC has a lot of speed on defense. They only allowed S.I. two yards rushing.
Riordan had a yellow-flag fest with Mitty and didn't play well at all against Serra and Bellarmine so I think the Irish have a good chance against them also.

This SH team is pretty fun to watch. For as many mistakes at crucial times they made this season, the grit, play all 48 minutes attitude, the offensive play trickeration/creativity makes this an exciting team despite their record.

Funny though the SI game they pretty much dominated them on defense (been some time since SI had no real run threat), SH won by the skin of their teeth. SI scored on a broken coverage TD, a no no no no no no dont throw that pick six, and on the philly special trick play. SH had a Sanders TD run called back by that annual phantom penalty by the ref. What a game completely filled with extreme highs and lows!
