Good one at Piedmont tonight. Hosts were missing Harris, one of their best players (concussion) but led by 11 at the half. Sawyers picked up his second foul with 1:38 left in the first quarter and didn't come back in until the second half but more than made up for lost time. He scored 23 of his 25 over the final two quarters and continues to be one of the best-kept secrets in the Bay Area. Best of all, he did it while being forced to the outside. He hit a bunch of mid-range jumpers and even a pair of threes.

San Leandro is a really interesting team because they have tons of muscle and physicality but not a lot of outside shooting. Their one reliable 3-point shooter is #10 Aguirre, who hit three of them, including one off an inbound.

The top three in the WACC Foothill are awfully good. Both these teams can give O'Dowd a game on the right evening, as Piedmont already did. Excited to see how this league plays out and how all three of these teams fare in the postseason.

Story should be up on Prep2Prep in the morning.
