Top 20 thoughts?

A horrible off night. Morgan Cheli foul trouble. McKenna Wolizcko flu. A twisted ankle or two.

Granted, fully healthy, Mitty's B game would be enough to beat Newman's A game.

Queiroz changes the equation -- she gives Newman a shot against Mitty.

I love your optimism. I like coach Mertle and everything she does but they don't have a big enough talent pool. Mitty by 26 in the NorCal final.

I agree with this one for sure.

Mitty is 20+ pts better than anyone that will be in the Norcal open. They will role thru the open...no one has a shot.

Greatest team ever. Seriously no school can compete with them. The 1 v 4 vs Folsom? They will barely break a sweat. And the final Vs CW, CN, SMS or SRV? Basically a scrimmage for such a powerhouse.

Congrats to mitty as norcal champs, state champs and national champs.

😊

Its silly how good Taissa Queiroz is from Newman. I've been to a lot of games over the years and often times the player is more "hype" than reality. Not in this case. This is the ultimate compliment and its not meant to be a downgrade but she plays like the "guys.". Incredible all-around talent. I would imagine everybody will be offering after the season.
Yep..she's fun to watch.
Has offers from the Pac12, Big 12, Big 10 and ACC already.

I agree the offers are just starting and more on the way.

I sense a little sarcasm there.

And you're right -- that's why they play the games.

If Analy and Ukiah wanted to be taken serious and challenge the Newman train for a league title they would just have hit the European transfer portal.

Maybe McClatchy or SHC fills out the Top 20

This was a fun thread back in November. What did the End of the season NorCal Top 20 look like I'm wondering?

Great list. It's hard for me to put SMS over Folsom because Ava Rawlings didn't play that game and other players did play as well. I believe Folsom is the #2 with SMS #3. But this is a solid list

I believe CalHiSports feels that St. Mary's complete body of work/schedule was tougher than Folsom's. Of course, St. Mary's beating Folsom in the SJS section final makes a compelling case. But also, St. Mary's beat Cardinal Newman once during the season, and San Ramon Valley twice (both Open division teams). Folsom split with Cardinal Newman. St. Mary's also has a better MaxPreps ranking than Folsom.
