It’s been a hell of a SFL season with an awesome finish this week. Each game has some major implications. Some key points to remember. Whitney is sitting at 3 wins and needs a victory to get into the D2 playoffs. They face off against GB after a surprising performance against DO. GB needs a win to not go winless in league. Rocklin is playing Folsom in a game that has title implications. If folsom wins they will be the outright SFL champ. If Rocklin can pull a miracle and win then the league champ would be determined by how DO finishes. To simplify…
1. Folsom Win= Folsom outright champs
2. Rocklin Win/DO Loss= Rocklin outright champs
3. Rocklin Win/DO Win= 3 way tie for League
Oak Ridge will be looking to get the win against Casey’s Taylor’s old school and help their seeding for the D1 playoffs. Thoughts? Predictions?
Whitney @ Granite Bay
Rocklin @ Folsom (Thursday night)
Del Oro @ Oak Ridge

Whitney 28-21
Deadlines make deals, Whitney sneaks into playoffs.

Folsom 42-10
@home Senior Night, Anything less would be a knock on Folsom SFL dominance.

Del Oro 28-24
Oak Ridge shuts down the run, struggles in pass defense, close game however.

Granite Bay beats Whitney. I just can’t see GB going winless. Sorry Whitney the hoop coach will appreciate any 2 sport guys getting on the hardwood sooner.

Folsom over Rocklin. I expect rocklin to battle in this one early, but Folsom pulls away by 3-4 scores.

DO over OR. Oak ridge is so beat up in the secondary and DO is more dynamic offensively than Rocklin was. I expect they will exploit OR weakness. You got a really good running QB as well. I just don’t see OR stopping DO. Maybe if they get a couple starters back.
42-35 DO in a fun one.

So you’re saying that if MD & SJB do it, that makes it ok for Folsom to do it?
1. Folsom doesn't do it.

2. There have been a TON of people on here that have asked Folsom to schedule SJB or MD....all while saying that what they are doing is just fine.

3. Imagine the uproar if Folsom had actual host families. People here go ape sh*t if someone comes to Folsom under an approved CIF transfer, whole family move lol

4. SJB and MD have literal ONE semester transfers that go "home" after football season. Everyone cheers them on lol

I apologize everyone, I didn’t mean to get off topic about this week in SFL.

Granite Bay over Whitney: Tough for Whitney to come back after near upset last week. GB gets the win going into the playoffs

Del Oro over Oak Ridge: Del Oro's speed wins out. But this is a 24-17 type game

Folsom over Rocklin: Curious how Rocklin can limit plays in this game for Folsom, but Bulldogs are too much for them

Folsom by 5 scores over Rocklin

Del Oro will beat Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge simply doesn't have the depth or speed.

Granite Bay tough D beats Whitney.

Run the ball successfully. Live in 3rd & short. Stay in bounds, let clock tick. Take advantage of slowing the pace but speed up if/when you have Folsom caught off guard. Dominate in special teams, 2pt plays and short yardage. Allow Folsom to beat themselves (arrogance, pass too much, going for it on 4th in bad field situations). Not saying Folsom is arrogant in any way but sometimes teams are so Dominant that they can beat themselves. Imo, Folsom needs to beat themselves and Rocklin needs to dominate the little things.

I should also add you need to out coach them bc your not going to out athlete or out player them. They have 18 damn transfers and way more good players than anyone else in our section. It's the same way you had to play Grant back in the day. Hope you can out coach them and hope they F it up. Otherwise it's going to be a looooong night. You need to beat great teams Sunday-Thursday with Film, practice and by-in.

They absolutely do NOT have 18 transfers on the football team. Total myth.

18 total across ALL sports for the entire school of nearly 3k. It's actually pretty impressive, considering MD fielded 71 one season lol

That's the recipe, agreed. Try to run and limit Folsom offensive possessions, make their DB's tackle in space, essentially their defense is all dbs. They use their Dline and LBs on alot of exotics, twist, gap blitz to help out in the rune game, they dont have the dline guys to go head to head or take on dbl teams. Got to get a few stops on defense. Easier said then done but will be a fun chippy game.

Way easier said than done. It's really easy to pick up twist, stunts and all the blitzes vs scout team. Really big task to ask on Friday when the opponent is absolutely loaded.

Rocklin’s offensive inconsistency and consistent penalties makes it an easy call to go with Folsom.

But I’ll say it again, this is not one of Folsom’s better teams specifically offensively. Mack isn’t the level of QB they’ve had the past 13 years. They’re nickel and dime’ing defenses with their spread system more than beating them with elite talent and explosive plays.

Folsom’s defense, however, is really good.

If Rocklin returned last seasons team I think they’d kill Folsom just like they did last season and probably would have again had Lueth returned during the postseason.

Roberts is a good kid, but way too inconsistent and nowhere near as talented of a QB and this year RHS doesn’t have the receiving threats nor the same level of offensive and defensive lines.

If they can manage to run the ball well, hit a few explosive pass plays, and play their best defensive game of the season I believe they’ve got a punchers chance. Consistently pressuring Austin Mack will lead to good things.

Most likely, though, they play good defense at times but don’t get consistent pressure and lose something like 31-10.

Streak , I could see DO scoring in the 30’s or more. OR is so depleted in secondary. I do see the game close.
I like what Taylor is doing at OR and the future looks bright. They will win a playoff game and be a thorn for the next opponent.
