Turlock beat Freedom 21-7: Turlock controlled both lines of scrimmage to avenge a 2018 loss. Josiah Gonzalez had two rushing touchdowns

Pittsburg beat St. Mary's-Stockton 42-35: New starting quarterback Jerry Johnson threw six touchdown passes in a big road win.

St. Thomas Aquinas beat De La Salle 24-14: In its first trip to Concord, St. Thomas Aquinas handed De La Salle its first season opening loss since 2015.

San Leandro beat Foothill-Pleasanton 28-20: San Leandro overcame a 14 point deficit to beat Foothill for the fourth straight year.

Del Oro beat Pleasant Valley 32-19: Del Oro led 32-0 at halftime behind two defensive touchdowns. This is the second time Del Oro has beaten Pleasant Valley.

Placer beat Eureka 40-27: Hans Grassmann rushed for 238 yards and two touchdowns. The game was tied at 27 in the fourth quarter.

Rocklin beat Antelope 35-7: Rocklin led 21-0 at halftime in picking up the road win in the head coaching debut of Jason Adams.

Capital Christian beat Cosumnes Oaks 32-7: The result shows Capital Christian will remain in the mix while it could be a tough year for Cosumnes Oaks.

Inderkum beat Elk Grove 34-32: Inderkum led 21-6 at halftime and held off a late charge by the Thundering Herd. It is the third straight year Inderkum has beaten Elk Grove.

Davis beat Grant 35-6: Davis was expected to field one of its better teams in recent years, but still a surprising score.

I thought Elk Grove had a great chance of beating Indy this year. I chose them in pick'em early but changed my pick at the last minute. Still believe coach Heff will eventually figure Indy's winning philosophy out soon. Also had Rocklin to beat Antelope but change pick to Antelope at the last minute as well, damn!

*Does anyone have info on poster DanKings??? Shocked to see he hasn't been speaking on his Vacaville team and not playing Pick'em. I'm a lil concerned.

@FootballJunkie101 you were on the right thought process. Don’t have a pony in the race but I’ll first say that was the worst officiated game I have seen in all my life of watching high school football. With that said EG was down 28-12 late 3rd and came back to take the lead 32-28 with about 3-4 minutes left . As they had done all night Indy answered with a 3rd and long from inside their own side of the field. EG Down 2 scores most of night and every time EG scores to give hope Indy came right back on kickoff or first play from scrimmage with a long run . They kept drive going and on another 3rd down the runner was falling as EG tackler came in . The tackler essentially made the tackle with his back and ref from opposite side threw a flag for helmet to helmet . Wasn’t even close . It gave Indy first and goal. They scored PAT blocked and 34-32 Indy with a minute and change left . Eg took kickoff to about 40. Moved ball to 1st and goal at 5 with 20 seconds and timeouts. Fumbled and game over. If anything to be learned don’t chase missed PAT. EG missed first one then went for 2 next 2 td’s . In the first half EG also gang tackled an Indy runner and EG linebacker tried to punch the ball out. They threw a flag 15 yards and ejection saying he “Threw a punch” Knew the night would be long after that

Yeap H.E.A.T that game last year was closer than people think @ Indy's house. I believe Elk Grove had like 3 turnovers in that game to Indy's zero. That said, Elk Grove also brought a few more players back this year. The thing that made me go with Indy at the last minute was the fact of their JV team beating Elk Grove last year. I let that be the last determining factor to go with Indy since I believed this would be a toss up type game.

It’s that time of year again and here I am once again saying”How bout those lil strawchewers from Placer”,lol. They are young, this is true......but don’t under estimate them!
Eureka is a North Section team, they have had pretty good success last couple yrs....well coached, also a Wing-T team.Placer rb Hans Grassman 27 carries 238 yds and 2 td’s.Placer’s other rb Jesse Whigam got it going 2nd half, both of these rb’s return from last yrs team.....Here’s the kicker....Placer’s BEST rb who also plays safety won’t play till league starts with an injury from last yr on jv team (shoulder). The Hillmen are definitely young on both sides of the ball....but they are very well coached under Co-Head Coaches Joey Montoya and Eric Rodarte! All you pick em guru’s,I get a kick out of your picks and reasons for those picks,I applaud everyone of you.....I LEARN ALOT FROM ALL OF YOU,Bravo! I love our lil strawchewers from Auburn(Placer) you all know this, and i’m a huge SJS supporter.....we have VERY GOOD TEAMS in our Section! My only 2 cents is this, especially yrs like this.......please don’t UNDER ESTIMATE our kids!If you’re GOOD you better bring it because if you don’t more times than not our lil strawchewers will BITE YOU!Our kids will really be tested in weeks 3 and 5 when Cardinal Newman and Bishop O’Dowd come to town, both are solid programs, especially Cardinal Newman!GOOD LUCK GENTLEMEN..........Go Placer Go Sac-Joaquin Section!

Why you think I picked them in Pick'em. Though both teams are young. I just had a feeling the lil strawchewers were going to handle their bidness in Eureka. And they did, thank God! Congrats championcif75 and good to see you here giving us the low down on the lil strawchewers.

Maybe 5-6 turnovers and 200 yds penalties this game

Didn't find out to this evening....I guess Jared Gibson broker his leg in pre-season which is awful because he's a great kid with amazing parents. He'll make the best of his situation at Sac St.
