the nfhs feed just quit! In the darkest dark...Liberty v Oakdale score was quite a surprise. Oakdale plays a mirror image in Aptos and Palma the following. Will be a good comparison game in the PCAL Gab. Liberty looks like they aren't the team they were last season and Oakdale better than they were last season.
Liberty may not be as good as they were last season, but it looks like the entire BVAL is down this year. For perennially one of the top leagues in NorCal, it’s been a tough first couple of weeks.
Liberty will surely continue to be tested big time the next 3 weeks, facing CVC (1-0), Monte Vista (1-0) and Cardinal Newman (2-0). Great schedule!
Pitt, despite their impressive opening night road win over St. Mary’s of Stockton, has reason for concern over their defense. Giving up 93 points in their 1st 2 contests is cause for concern no mater who you are playing. They face 0-2 Wooster of Reno this week, and hopefully can get their D in order. Then BOD (0-1) & Wilcox (0-1) the next 2 weeks will be a test, but those teams both lost this week and may not be the test it appeared when they were scheduled.
The rest of the BVAL is in shambles just 2 weeks in, as Freedom (0-2), Antioch (0-2), Deer Valley (0-2) & Heritage (0-2) are a combined 0-8. The 10/18 Pitt at Liberty game should be the key to the BVAL title.
Yep, both Oakdale and Palma have a dangerous run game this year. That is going to be a hard game to pick. That pick in my eyes right now will come down to home field advantage. We all know the Corral is a very difficult place for visitors to win at.
Aptos has some pretty good RBs and QB as well. Will be interesting to see them go head to head. Oakdale will probably have advantage on the lines.
Having been to a game in Aptos in September a few years back, the boys from the valley better bring their cold gear. We froze our butts off in the stands!
