Lancers moving the ball with less than 2 minutes left in the half. They had went 95 yards to score their first TD. They started this drive on their 32. The Lancers got to the Spartan 12 but no gain after 2 plays. 3rd and 10 on the 12 with 69 secs left in the half.
Ball caught a yard short of the 1st down. 4th and 1, a long 1. 52.9 secs left in the half. Going for it! Lancer RB #33 bounces off the line and runs in from the left side. DLS and SF tied at 14 with just over 40 seconds left in the half.

Serra vs CC is starting to look a bit like last season eerily. Serra rec'd and scored in just 3 plays making it look easy. CC then 3 & out & Serra is great position to go up 14-0. CC suddenly toughened and Serra in the red zone with a 4th and 11 went for the 1rst down rather than an easy FG [Serra coaches got a bit greedy early]. CC held and then aided by a few Serra penalties incl. a personal foul 15-yarder for late hit on CC's QB it's suddenly 7-7. CC's QB is a specimen who also plays DE and took the ball away from Serra's QB on a turnover. Serra's 2nd score FG came after the Padres stalled and Coach Walsh had 2nd thoughts about gambling on 4th again and Padres scored on a lengthy FG. All in all CC looks like a formidible opponent for the Padres and CC looks pumped compared to Serra.
Serra's QB while accurate on some passes throws into heavy traffic even when the WR is blanketed which is asking for trouble. Should be a good 2nd 1/2 and if Serra plays like the first 1/2 then this game is up for grabs.
Also glimpsing St. Francis DLS game and tied 14-14 at the 1/2 which is a huge surprise. The Lancers looked pumped up and are giving the Spartans a game so far. I did notice though with DLS being 0-2 and Lancers being 1-1 the homestands & field are sparsely crowded with fans compared to past big games.
