St Mary’s 41 Manteca 12 final score.
After Manteca’s first two series, the first being stopped on 4th down inside the Rams 5 and the second giving up Manteca’s first TD, the Rams D played very well. Bryson Davis wasn’t much of a factor as the Rams were able to limit his runs most of the night. It was very hard again for Manteca to run the ball against the Rams D with or without Davis in the game. Manteca started out of the gate to begin the game throwing the ball and found some success in their passing game when facing 4th and long. But, it wasn’t enough. Much of the 4th quarter was a running clock when the Rams went up 41-6. The Buffaloes scored their final TD pretty much in garbage time. Once again, the Rams were dominant, especially their run defense. On offense the Rams just had too much speed. But, commend Manteca’s defense in forcing the Rams to pull off a trick play (RB option pass downfield to pick up a first down facing 4th and long). Both teams struggled kicking their extra points early on.
The game got heated at the start of the 2nd half when Manteca’s attempted onside kick only went 8 yards and they went head to head with one of the Rams in pursuit of the ball. The Rams player was laid out on the field and Manteca player was celebrating and taunting and flags were thrown from all over. Rams head coach, Tony Franks, was livid. He was so mad and screaming at the refs and Manteca for their unsportsmanlike behavior. The heat continued as Manteca’s #51 and St. Mary’s #71 were going at it and #71 getting flagged for his unsportsmanlike behavior vs #51. It was ugly! Fortunately, both teams cooled off at the end and shook each other’s hands at the end of the game.
Next week is going to be a good one between St. Mary’s and Rocklin, the two most dominant teams in SJS D2. Can’t wait! GO RAMS!!!

Refs almost gave it to Bears at end. Terrible reffing
Palma's Saldate was on D last two plays. Crazy he should be on the field all game and even return kicks.He's one of the fastest track athletes in CCS and built like a bull.
Got to say Freshman RB Dukes was a huge factor with 2 TDs and times he was gaining 6-9 yards a time. That kids if he stays healthy is going to break a few Palma records. He's really fast and can cut and runs down hill. Runs like a senior. O-line looked good as well and Palma defense looked good with exception of giving up a few big plays given up. Palma offense looked really good at times and also shot themselves in the foot afew times. QB Nunes looked really good tonight. He made a few really big plays. This game has tomake Palma the favorite now in D3 CCS in championship.

Wow....9 seconds left and Centennial TO goes for 2 to win against St John Bosco. QB slips on keeper and SJB looks like it will prevail 43-42 and looks like faces Mater Dei in the Finals of Socal Championship. But Centennial recovers onside kick at the 40 with 8 seconds left. Missed pass and sack and SJB prevails.
I watched final seconds and that was crazy at the end. Centennial had chances to win it.

If Clovis North goes undefeated and Serra is undefeated CCS Open champ after tonight's win. Who gets put in Open Division Championship? Serra or Clovis North? I guess we find out if Clovis North goes undefeated when they play Central, but both would be top division champions.
A Prime Example of why Nor Cal needs to bring back the Open Play off game…. It is a Travesty that a team gets “Selected “ to play in the open as the top Nor Cal Champ without actually have to win a playoff game for that honor…..

This Rams defense against the run is so much better than last year along with being better than earlier in the season. No other team has held Bryson Davis (who was averaging 206 ypg) to less than 100 yards in a game. Granite Bay had surrendered 143 yards to Davis on 28 carries last week.
Next week vs Rocklin, the St. Mary’s Rams will be challenged with a very balanced offense and a very good defense from the Thunder. As I have shared before, St. Mary’s and Rocklin are very similar this year. I consider Rocklin to being a younger version of St. Mary’s. This is going to be a very good game. The Rams will be seeking vengeance from the semifinal game loss to the Thunder in 2021, which was a shootout where the Rams had the early lead and the Thunder stormed back for the win with a FG. I’m anticipating a different result next week. GO RAMS!!!

Just imagine of DLS-Serra-Folsom hadn’t played a Nor Cal Round Robin already, wed be looking at those 3, plus Clovis North as undefeated Section champs. Then what would the committee do? 🤷🏼
Add in St. Mary’s Stockton not having played DLS. 😉
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SAN RAMON WOLVES, THEY CAME INTO THE GAME WITH A STRONG PASSING GAME, A RUNNING GAME AND THE DEFENSE FAILED...DLS used their usual way of winning by grinding away and not slowing down to win. This was the year of the Wolve and every thing pointed that way except DLS putting the brake to SRV and DLS played tough and would not give an inch....DLS 17 SRV 7....
In a HS game DLS is so good at dictation of tempo.
They never seem to lose the close game. Does winner of Folsom vs Oak Ridge get DLS? I would love to see Oak Ridge Play DLS. Not sure they have ever met.
Or if CN wins out will they automatically get DLS?
