Heimbrodt is an available senior to watch

2022 Archie Williams forward Will Heimbrodt has had a strong senior season and helped the Peregrine Falcons reach the MCAL championship game this past week.

At 6-foot-7, he can play out on the perimeter and is effective catching the ball on the move and finishing on drives. He also has a good shooting touch.

His length is an asset on defense getting into passing lanes and protecting the rim.

Coming into the season, Heimbrodt came into the season ranked No. 35 in the 2022 class rankings.

CCS Open Division

Let's take a preliminary gander at a projected 2022 lineup:

Mitty... Pinewood... St. Ignatius... Valley Christian... St. Francis

So who's next? CCS prefers an eight-team Open bracket. The WBAL is way, way down this season. There are very few publics even remotely on a par with the listed five above. Hillsdale of the competitive PAL South is 17-1 but its schedule has not been especially challenging. Palo Alto is 15-1. Its current scenario is very similar to Hillsdale's. So is Evergreen Valley 's resume at 16-1. If those three run the remaining regular season table, they probably will be forced into the Open as a triple public sacrifice. It's never pretty in the CCS Open. The sole benefit for the over-matched publics: A guaranteed slot in an equity division in the NorCal tournament.

How to get a high seed in NCS

Unless you'er a San Ramon, Carondelet, BOD, or other annual power, by the look of how the seedings went, all you have to do is win games. The selection committee basis wins a lot more than the overall picture. There are a number of teams that have a good record (15+ wins) and a strength of schedule of 2 and below, getting home games and high seeds over teams that are 11-12 wins and 6-10 losses with BETTER strength of schedule and better wins overall. I know it's not a perfect system by any means, but when you have lazy committee members just go off records and not utilizing Maxpreps as a tool, there's a problem.

you can't make this stuff up! In d3 it was more balanced than in any other division. it's almost like they wanna get out of there so quickly that they don't look at the entire body of work for teams. I imagine it'd be frustrating for a lot of teams. To get a high seed, teams should go out and schedule creme puff teams and get a high w/l record. Will guarantee you a top 4 seed.
