St. Francis beat Bellarmine 6-1: St. Francis' Landon Kim ave up two hits and an unearned run over five innigns with four strikeouts. Matteo Pignati went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Bellarmine's Christian Duarte gave up four runs (one earned) over three innings in taking the loss.

St. Ignatius beat Mitty 10-0: Archer Horn and DJ Delaney each had a home run and combined for seven RBI for the Wildcats, which gotr four no-hit innings with six strikeouts from Tycco Giometti

Riordan beat Sacred Heart Cathedral 6-3: Riordan scored three runs in the first inning en route to the victory as Nathan Zuromski had a home run and two RBI. Sacred Heart Cathedral's Rohan Kahns had a home run and three RBI in the loss.

A sure sign of success.

To be investigated, that is. The Turlock Journal had an article this morning about an investigation (with a meeting with section officials this Friday) about some players transferring to Turlock. Well, that happens, but when this happened is the problem. Turlock has an off-season 7x7 and 5x5 program that is open to anyone from any school, and is supervised by a few Turlock coaches, although not the head coach. These players participated in the program and then transferred. Transferring before participation is ok, afterwards leads to accusations of influencing by the coaches. "Turlock head coach James Peterson thinks the allegations made about improper contact with potential players is all just 'sour grapes' from local rivals as the Bulldogs have been successful the past few seasons." (Direct quote from the paper). He is confident that his coaches did not do anything wrong. Not all of the teams in Turlock's league complained, rather the concern was from the surrounding area. Two of the players are from Central Catholic, and one each from Merced, Los Banos, and Denair. I have followed Turlock football for decades and I do not recall this ever happening before, at least to this level of complaint. They have had the occasional transfer sit out half the season but that's about it. Now this is nothing new to the Sacramento area posters on this board who regularly complain about Folsom transfers. So, we'll see what happens Friday.

March 31 Notes

Liberty beat Campolindo 3-1. Liberty's Rane Miller had a triple and two runs scored and Jake Farr tossed a complete game with six strikeouts. Liberty had four sophomores in the starting lineup.

Menlo beat Sacred Heart Prep 1-0: Menlo walked it off in the ninth inning with a RBI from Ben Salama. Jackson Flanagan threw all nine innings and struck out four batters. Devin Saltzgaber had three hits in the loss.

St. Mary's beat Tracy 4-0: Brady Errecart and Dax Hardcastle each had a triple and Nico Bavaro threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts.

Davis beat Jesuit 5-4: Max O'Geen had two RBI and Charlie Sheridan struck out eight batters over five innings to propel Davis. Eric Erdmann had a home run for Jesuit.

Rocklin beat Whitney 5-1: Rocklin jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings as Troy Ueltzen had a first inning home run. Joey Lorenzini posted six strikeouts over five innings of one run ball. Bryce Farris had a RBI for Whitney.

Franklin beat Sheldon 21-1: The Wildcats scored six runs in the first two innings and 11 in the third in closing this one out in five innings. Dylan Minnatee and Edgar Garcia each had four RBI and Dylan Wood got eight of his nine outs by strikeouts.

25 years later, Bibby and O’Neal on same team! 😀

Bibby’s first portal get is a splashy one (sort of) 😀

Keep me honest here:

Jordan Lee (St. Marys) has had an excellent freshman year for Texas, a #1 seed into the Elite 8

Morgan Cheli (Mitty), before an ankle injury, was a key member of the UConn squad that is playing for a spot in the Elite 8 today.

Una Jovanovich (Pinewood) was a starter last year at TCU (into the Elite 8 today), but has seen a decline in time this season as xfers took over.

Amanda Muse (Heritage) is a redshirt sophomore on UCLA's Elite 8 squad.

Note: Tameiya Sadler from SPSV was starting as a grad for Ole Miss who UCLA knocked off yesterday, and Taissa Quieroz from Cardinal Newman is at UNC, who Duke just beat, though I don't see her on the roster yet.

Mater Dei gets 10 year/$10M deal

https://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/california-high-school-sports-millions-media-deal-20234327.php

Imagine getting $1M a year for your sports programs (ahem ahem buy whatever player you want).

"The deal is not going to end up giving any Mater Dei athletes money directly, as high schools in California are prohibited from helping their students with name, image and likeness (NIL) deals. But this agreement will help Mater Dei enhance its athletic department in a way that few others have done."

Directly??? ok so if I do it indirectly, we are all good right?

BIG THANK YOU TO TEAM LILLARD, AAU, ALL PLAYERS ON 2025 team WILL PLAY AT DIVISION 1 SCHOOLS

This program is serious about northern California kids. There is no other program in Northern California like Team Lillard. The Directors and coaches only want the best for our local kids. Please join me to say thank you to them.

Troy Taylor investigation

So I guess Troy Taylor is an asshole and hard to work for (especially if you are a female)? Ok so are most coaches. Not sure how big of a a deal this actually is or isn’t. Wonder if this is why they brought Luck back in to oversee the program.
