Why does CCS continually have losing teams play on?

SJS, NCS, CS and NS are all creating D1-7 Open divisions so they can have their runner ups continue on. 52 teams will now move forward. What the heck are we doing here? The way competition works is you lose and your OUT. There arguably could be one exception. EBAL D1 runner up should advance because they face DLS each year. CCS Wake Up, losers go home. You are ruining the high school spirit of competition.

Sacred Heart Prep vs Campolindo

This would have been a great match up. Would have loved to see coach Lavorato and coach Macy go at it. Two of the better coaches in Nor-Cal in my opinion. I would have love to see this match up a few years back as well. I think Milpitas and McClymonds would have been a decent match up as well. I would think both CCS schools would be favorite in these games.

4 Reasons Why Del Oro will play Pleasant Valley

If Clayton Valley wins tonight, here are 4 reasons why Del Oro will play Pleasant Valley in D2AA.
1) Enrollment Based - Clayton Valley 1999 - Del Oro 1703
2) Competitive Equity 3 year records. Clayton Valley 39-4, Del Oro 27-15.
3) Common Opponent: Folsom 27, CV 26 - Folsom 31, DO 0
4) Del Oro vs Pleasant Valley will make the CIF lots of $$$$

I think it is very obvious, why we will see a Del Oro vs PV game next week. CV will be the 1A selection and play Liberty-Bakersfield. Biggest question now is where will the game be played?????? Lots of rain this week so turf is the only option. YUBA College? True neutral site. I am sure both programs would love to host. Del Oro has a good arguement as a game at Del Oro HS could draw upwards of 7500-10,000 fans. This could easily be a $50k, night for the CIF. We have seen in the past where the games at Del Oro sell out with crowds quoted in the Sac Bee of close to 10,000 fans. I have never seen a crowd that large at DO, but I have seen 7000 and it is an amazing HS venue for a football game. I guess we will find out tomorrow.

1AA: Folsom/Elk Grove Winner vs Bellarmine
1A: Clayton Valley vs Liberty (Bakersfield)

2AA: Pleasant Valley (Chico) vs Del Oro
2A: St. Francis vs Oak Grove

3AA: Riordan vs Milpitas
3A: Campolindo vs Hanford

4AA: Sonora vs McClymonds
4A: Sutter vs Bradshaw Christian

5AA: Sierra (Manteca) vs Berean Christian
5A: Immanuel vs Fall River

6AA: East Nicolaus
6AAP: Stone Ridge Christian vs Mission-SF.

Florida's IMG Academy is coming to California

Read on the SoCal board that IMG Academy is coming to California to play Centennial Corona. Great job CC. There's lots of controversy surrounding IMG such as huge tuition, boarding school, football mill, etc. but it great they are traveling out west.
