NBL...CASA GRANDE VS CARDINAL NEWMAN. 1/26

Monday night 1/26 7:30pm @ Cardinal Newman.

Just a week or so ago it looked like CN might be bullying their way to a fairly easy NBL championship.

NOW after an upset loss to a scrappy Windsor squad CN (5-1) finds themselves in a truly MUST WIN game

vs the NBL leading (6-0) Casa Grande gauchos.

The problems for CN....

1) Casa finally fully healthy and balling...especially their big man 6'6 Christie who looks like he should be playing Tight end
for the 49ers....and is a legit MVP candidate.

2) Could Newman's EXTREMELY soft preseason schedule be haunting them now? They built up that impressive 16-0 record
with the only 2 decent wins vs. SMB and Los Lomas.....and never left Sonoma county except to play a 3 win Justin Siena team in napa. So now as games get tougher did they prepare themselves good enough??

a loss vs Casa and CN's league championship aspirations are done. 2games behind after the 1st half? No way they make that up.

EBAL Prediction 1-27-15

The final set of games as we close the first half of league. DLS, MV, and SRV are all sitting with a 5-1 record, Foothill, AV, and Granada wrestle each other in the mid groupings. Here is how I see them playing out tonight:

DE LA SALLE at CAL - The last game in league is usually a rivalry contest but this one has never had that feel in basketball. The Spartans will be tied for first place after tonight and this game will not be pretty. DLS 65 CAL 32

AMADOR VALLEY at FOOTHILL - A battle of two teams that are 3-3 in EBAL. All of the losses have come to the top three in league and all of the wins have come against Granada and the bottom two. Cobb and Findley have played very well for the Falcons and being that this is a home game for them, the W will go to Foothill. FOOTHILL 58 AV 51

GRANADA at LIVERMORE - This game is usually competitive because it is a true rival game. Johnson and company have more fire power than the Cowboys so this one goes to Granada. GRANADA 66 LIVERMORE 46

SAN RAMON VALLEY at MONTE VISTA - This is always a great game to watch and it is one of the best rivalries in NorCal. I wish I was in town to catch this one tonight, as these are two of the better teams in the area. The Wolves are coming off a resounding loss to DLS and have much to prove. Smith and Polosky will need to provide a spark against Mitu and the LaShell brothers. This game is always a close one because of the emotion that comes with it. The home team takes it against the visiting squad. MV 56 SRV 50

Enjoy the games!

St. Mary's - Stockton 93 Lincoln - Stockton 44 Final

St. Mary's starters were on the bench for 60% of this game. During the last four minutes of the 2nd quarter St. Mary's went on a 17-0 run while the starters were on the bench. Talk about depth!

Highlight of the game was Cayton's 3/4 length of the court that hit nothing but net as time expired in the 1st quarter. The smile on her face when she hit it was just as crowd pleasing.

Lazenby to Retire on November 1st 2015

Nancy Lazenby Blaser has confirmed she will retire ascommissioner of the CCS after this season. @ Prep2PrepSports

There is no truth to the matter that she will go undercover to ride CalTrain nor Bart in order to catch the next set of 7'4 twins from Dubai who are trying to get to the Bay Area to play HS Hoops and then attend St. Mary's College.
